Flamengo Esports qualified for South American Conference
ESL Pro League Season 17 South American Conference is all set to commence today 18th January. A total of 3 teams will be seen in action as they will compete to book their place in the ESL Pro League Season 17. The tournament is organised by ESL which mainly serves as the qualifier. A total of five regions are conducting their regional conferences to determine which team qualifies for ESL Pro League Season 17. The South American Conference teams which are going to compete are Imperial Esports, 00 Nation and Flamengo Esports. The South American Conference will run till 20th January and the top 2 will make it to the ESL Pro League Season 17.
About the tournament
ESEA is the organiser for this tournament and it will have 2 commentators xner aka Cole McHenry and Phy aka Garret Schier. Three teams will compete through the Playoffs format with a Double-Elimination bracket and the matches will be a series of best of 3. The top two teams will head for the ESL Pro League Season 17.
Flamengo Esports’ qualification
Flamengo Esports was drawn with 7 other teams in the ESL Pro League Season 17: South American Conference Open Qualifier. All these 8 teams played in the Playoffs bracket of the open qualifier, Flamengo remained unbeaten and won the ESL Pro League Season 17: South American Conference Open Qualifier Grand Final against Meta Gaming.
Flamengo Esports vs Meta Gaming
Both teams played best of 3-game series for the Grand Final. Map veto included Inferno, Mirage and Ancient.
- Inferno map – Meta Gaming began to dominate the game as the first-half score remained 6-9. The second-half score of the game ended with a score of 7-7 which was enough for Meta Gaming to make it a 13-16 win.
- Mirage map – After the defeat, Flamengo Esports began to dominate Meta Gaming on the Mirage map. The first-half score was 10-5 which gave a good lead to Flamengo Esports and later it was an easy win for Flamengo as they made it 6-2 in the second half. The final score of the game was 16-7 and Flamengo claimed the win.
- Ancient map – It gave an entertaining fixture as Meta dominated the first half with a score of 5-10 but Flamengo Esports equalled the score in the second half. Both teams forced the match to overtime and Flamengo ended with a win by 2-1.
This win led Flamengo to cement its position in the ESL Pro League Season 17: South American Conference.
