Fnatic makes new changes following a poor performance in LEC
Fnatic, one of the popular esports organisations in the EMEA region, has undergone specific changes in its roster. Following the poor performance in the LEC Winter Split, the team finished 9th in the overall standings after 3 weeks of actions in the Regular season. Following this, the organisation began reorganising, where alterations were being made to the roster.
Many reports are up regarding their midlaner Martin Hansen aka Wunder will, getting replaced, the organisation parted its way with the Head Coach, Ruben Barbosa, who was also a support player. Another speculation is upfront regarding the organisation’s planning to replace Goncalo Brandao, better known as Crusher. With the latest news from investigative journalist LEC Wooloo Nightshare aka Tomas Knezinek, will be the head coach.
Nightshare joins as Head coach
Following the exits, Nightshare chose to be the coach of Fnatic following his talks with Team Excel as well. Previously, Nightshare was best known for his time at Immortals. He participated in LCS and other academy leagues with Immortals from December 2020 to October 2022. Nightshare first began his League of Legends career as a coach in May 2016 for Fraternitas, a Czech team. Later after spending 3 years, he got appointed by Immortals Academy, and with them, the coach got enough experience and went ahead with them till October 2022.
Fnatic’s main target was GrabbZ, aka Fabian Lohmann, the head coach of Team BDS. Negotiations were going on regarding the head coach position. However, due to some unknown reasons, the deal was not made. Nightshare, on the other hand, was in talks with Excel, but later he decided to be Fnatic’s head coach. Nightshare’s identical twin brother Ales Knezinek is better known by the name Freeze who is currently the head coach of Evil Geniuses.
How will his presence affect the team?
Following the worst performance ever in the LEC Winter Split, Fnatic needs to have someone who can take care of the team. This Winter Split was devastating for them, and to keep everything on track, Nightshare will work to develop the roster with new signings to come on. The LEC 2023 Spring Split is just around the corner, as it begins on the 11th of March. Fans can expect Fnatic to have a complete reorganisation before that.
