- Map 2: The second map of the day was Mirage. Fans got to witness another good first-half display from Heroic but it was again G2 Esports who made it twist. A 10-4 second-half finish led G2 Esports to a back-to-back win as they claimed the game with a 16-13 score.

Moment to rejoice
The victory led them to secure the title, winning the best of 5 game series by 3-1. This victory will surely be a memorable one as G2’s NiKo played the IEM Katowice Grand Final for the 4th time. Previously, he lost the three finals mainly in 2017, 2018 and 2022. But this time things were different as he finally got his hands on the trophy. Also, they were able to register their name as the second team in the CS:GO esports’ history with the longest map win streak. Ninjas in Pyjamas holds the longest map win streak with a total of 87 maps in both the years respectively 2012 and 2013.
Following the victory, G2 Esports qualified for the IEM Cologne 2023 which will take place on the 25th of July in Germany. Check out our previous articles on Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023. You can also check our Instagram.
