All you need to know about the IEM Spring 2023
ESL organised the Intel Extreme Masters Spring 2023 which is currently conducting the qualifiers for different regions. It is part of the IEM Series and the qualifiers are taking place in Europe, North America, South America and Asia regions. The European Open Qualifier 2 is taking place and it is a 2-day event which commenced on 30th January. A total of 365 teams participated in this but now, the qualifier is down to 16 teams. It follows a playoff format with all matches of Best of 1 game and all the teams are placed in a Single-Elimination bracket. The qualification matches are of the best of 3 game series. Today a total of 16 matches were played in Round 2.
A closer look at the round analysis of the matches
The day began with the matches from Round 2. All the matches were of best of 1 series and the winners moved in towards Round 3. Here is the detailed overview underway.
· Game 1: GamerLegion vs Synck eSports
The game began on the Mirage map and both teams were up against each other. GamerLegion made it 12-3 in the first half with a brilliant performance. Synck eSports tried to make a comeback but failed to do so as the second half ended with a score of 4-6. The game ended in a win for GamerLegion with a score of 16-9.
· Game 2: Orgless Heroes vs Team Falcons
It was played on the Overpass map Falcons were seen dominating the game as the first-half score remained 3-12. Later a 1-4 score in the second half led them to a win by 4-16.
· Game 3: Lazer Cats vs Iron Branch
Both teams headed for the Anubis map. First half score remained 12-3 and later a 4-3 finish in the second half led them to a victory by 16-6.
· Game 4: HONORIS vs IBRATA
The game began on the Overpass map. The first-half score remained 7-8 but HONORIS performed well and made it 9-3 in the second half. With this HONORIS won the game by 16-11.
· Game 5: Eternal Fire vs Let Us Cook
The game was played on the Inferno map. The first half remained 6-9 and later a 10-3 finish led Eternal Fire to a win by 16-12.
· Game 6: Lilmix vs B8
It was played on Ancient map, and the first half remained 11-4. B8 made it 5-8 in the second half and Lilmix won the game by 16-12.
· Game 7: Movistar Riders vs Grindas
The game was played on the Nuke map. First half score remained 12-3 later a 4-4 finish led Movistar Riders to a win by 16-7.
· Game 8: VOYVODA vs Minas Tirith
It was played on the Mirage map. The first-half score was 10-5. The second half remained with a 6-8 score but VOYVODA won the game by 16-13.
· Game 9: Copenhagen Flames vs Anonymo Esports
Ancient map was where the game was played, the first half score remained 8-7 and later 8-4 score remained in the second half and Copenhagen Flames won by 16-11.
· Game 10: Rapid Ninjas vs IKLA
The game was played on the Mirage map. Match went to overtime and IKLA won by 18-22.
· Game 11: 9INE vs Partizan Esports
Nuke was the map and the score remained 11-4 in the first half. Later a 5-2 second half led 9INE to a 16-6 victory.
· Game 12: Illuminar Gaming vs Team BLINK
It was played on the Mirage map. First half score remained 4-11 and later a 10-5 finish led Team BLINK to a win by 14-16.
· Game 13: 500 vs EYEBALLERS
It was played on the Inferno map. 6-9 was the first-half score and a 10-2 comeback from 500 in the second half led them to a victory by 16-11.
· Game 14: SINNERS Esports vs Viperio
It was played on the Vertigo map. First half score remained 11-4 and later a 5-1 second half led SINNERS Esports to a victory by 16-5.
· Game 15: BLUEJAYS vs For The Win Esports
For The Win Esports made it 4-11 in the first half on the Vertigo map. Later a 4-5 score led them to a victory by 8-16.
· Game 16: iNation vs Sangal Esports
Inferno was the map, Sangal Esports made it 5-10 and later iNation made it 8-6 in the second half. Sangal Esports won the game by 13-16.
Round 2 concluded with the following games and a total of 16 teams made it to the next round.
