A look at the tournament overview
Riot Games organised the offline LCK Spring 2023 on the 18th of January. The tournament holds a prize pool of ₩375,000,000 for which, a total of 10 teams are competing. The location of the tournament is Seoul and it is taking place at LoL Park. With the two-stage format, the tournament has reached Day 3 of the Week 4 Group stage actions. Yesterday, Day 3 of Week 4 was played out and it included two matches. Hanwha Life Esports won the game against BRION and SANDBOX Gaming won against DRX. The tournaments will go on till the 19th of March when fans will see their favourite team getting crowned as the Korean Champions. The top 2 will qualify for Mid-Season Invitational 2023.
Day 3 winners: Hanwha Life Esports and SANDBOX Gaming
As you all know, the matches are of best of 3 game series. Week 4 Day 3’s first match was BRION vs Hanwha Life Esports. The second game was SANDBOX Gaming vs DRX. Match 1: BRION vs Hanwha Esports
(Best of 3 score: 1-2)
- Game 1: BRION began with a Legends lineup of K’Sante, Wukong, Viktor, Lucian and Nami. Hanwha Life Esports’ legends lineup included Sion, Vi, Azir, Zeri and Lulu. The game was played for around 32 minutes and 48 seconds and Hanwha Life Esports made it a win for themselves. Clid became the match MVP for his great gameplay.
- Game 2: This time the Legends draft of BRION included K’Sante, Vi, Akali, Lucian and Nami. Hanwha Life Esports picked Sion, Sejuani, Azir, Zeri and Lulu. This game took 38 minutes and 24 seconds and BRION won the game with Karis becoming the match MVP after the game.
- Game 3: BRION’s draft phase had K’Sante and Vi in common from the previous game, other legends were Viktor, Zeri and Lulu. Hanwha Life Esports picked Gnar, Sejuani, Azir, Lucian and Nami. The game went on for 27 minutes and 22 seconds, with Hanwha Life Esports making it a win. Viper became the MVP.
Match 2: SANDBOX Gaming vs DRX
(Best of 3 score: 2-1)
- Game 1: SANDBOX Gaming’s legends were Jayce, Sejuani, Azir, Lucian and Nami. DRX picked Gnar, Vi, LeBlanc, Zeri and Lulu. For 31 minutes and 17 seconds, SANDBOX Gaming won the game and Burdol became the MVP.
- Game 2: The SANDBOX Gaming picked Yone, Elise, Jayce, Aphelios and Nautilus. DRX picked Sion, Maokai, Azir, Zeri and Lulu. DRX won the game after 28 minutes and 5 seconds with Croco becoming the match MVP.
- Game 3: SANDBOX Gaming picked a lineup of Gnar, Wukong, Azir, Lucian and Sona. DRX’s lineup included K’Sante, Vi, LeBlanc, Zeri and Nami. It was a quick game of 23 minutes and 20 seconds; SANDBOX Gaming won the game Willer became the Match MVP.
After these games got over, it paved the way for Week 4 Day 4 which is currently underway and the matches will be played out. Each day there is a total of 2 matches fixed in the Group Stage actions.
Standings of LCK Spring 2023
Currently, the standing is led by T1 as they maintain a record of 6-1, Gen.G Esports is in 2nd position with the same score record as T1. SANDBOX Gaming secured 3rd position with a record of 6-2 and Dplus is in 4th position with a 4-3 record. KT Rolster is in 5th position and Hanwha Life Esports is in 6th position. These are the top 6 teams who have the chance to proceed to the Playoffs. Well, matches are still left so it is hard to decide which team will make it.
