TenZ took a step back for the VCT Americas Split 2023 for testing COVID positive and finger injury.
The final playoff sports for VCT Americas Split 2023 are around the corner, and fans and spectators cannot hold their excitement. Only four weeks remain, and Sentinels, a popular North American organisation is still looking for solutions to enter the second half of the season.
Sentinels, recently disclosed that it will make a substantial roster change before the start of the fifth week, inserting Jimmy Nguyen better known as Marved into the starting lineup for the rest of the split. Tyson “TenZ” Ngo has stepped down from the Valorant roster of Sentinels but he will be with the squad throughout the entire season.
What the announcement was all about?
Adam Kaplan, the Sentinels’ new VALORANT head coach, decided to give TenZ a break from competitive play last week so that he could relax and recover. The coach revealed that TenZ had COVID and a joint infection in his left hand and therefore the team was forced to use Marved as a substitute player in their matches against LOUD and MIBR.
The head coach; Kaplan continued by asserting that TenZ is “not going anywhere” and added that the team’s objective is to qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo and represent the region there.
Additionally, it was revealed that TenZ had to play through a finger injury because Sentinels did not have a replacement player available to take his place. Hunter ‘SicK’ Mims had been suspended internally, therefore the team had signed Marved to fill his spot. However, the Canadian controller; SicK did not have a visa to compete in the league until shortly before Week 4 of VCT Americas.
