Why did TORONTOTOKYO want to change his position?
In a recent YouTube video, Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek (a pro-Russian Dota 2 player who is currently playing for BetBoom Team) provided an explanation of his justification for the unexpected change in his positions. He explained moving to the fifth position was not because he was not satisfied with his prior role as a mid-laner, but because he could find a jolt of opportunity in BetBoom, wherein he would perfectly fit the puzzle as a position 5 support. Furthermore, he said there weren’t many notifiable position 5 players around the world, making him anxious for the role even more.
Know more about TORONTOTOKYO:
A pro-Russian Dota 2 player, Alexander’s childhood has not been extensively discussed. It is believed that he is both Canadian and Mongolian. He was majoring in math and cybernetics at Moscow State University and decided to leave the course after a year of study to play Dota 2. He competed for Team Spirit, helping them advance to The International’s Lower Brackett Round 3 matchup against OG. The 19-minute juncture of the game featured the game’s most memorable play, in which Spirit demolished OG and TORONTOTOKYO dropped an “ez game” in chat in front of everyone watching, making history.
Look out for the lineup in Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1
The change, according to TORONTOTOKYO, was motivated by his desire to join BetBoom and what he saw as a dearth of potent support players in the professional game, rather than any problems with his former position, as he explained in a video posted on BetBoom Team’s official YouTube channel. The Eastern Europe region’s Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1 will include Betboom Team in the top tier. The BetBoom Team’s first official match with its new all-star lineup will take place on January 12 against Virtus.pro, which has previously hosted four of the team’s five players. It will be interesting to see how the new line-up unleashes its potential.
