VALORANT Challengers Brazil 2023 Regular Season week 1 recap
VALORANT Challengers 2023: Brazil Split 1 organised by Riot Games commenced on 18th January. A total of 8 teams are seen in action with four getting direct invitations and four teams making it from the closed qualifiers. The tournament is a part of the VALORANT Challengers League and consists of a prize pool of R$405,000. It will run till the 19th of March with two stages, mainly the Regular Season and the Playoffs. Week 1 of the VALORANT Challengers 2023: Brazil Split 1 Regular Season concluded yesterday, week 1 gave a total of 4 matches which were divided into two matchdays. Matchday 2 ended yesterday, The Union and TBK Esports won their respective games and made it to the top 4 in the standings.
Week 1 Overview
Week 1 had a total of four matches which is available on VALORANT Esports BR’s official YouTube channel.
It began with matchday 1 on 18th January which had two matches.

- Liberty vs ODDIK
Keyd Stars won by 2-0 in the best of 3 against RED Canids, and ODDIK won by 2-1 against Liberty.
Matchday 2 was played out yesterday 19th January and had a total of 2 matches.

- TropiCaos vs TBK Esports.

00 Nation vs The Union
Map Veto – 00 Nation picked Fracture and The Union picked Breeze. The Decider map was Haven.
Breeze map: 00 Nation picked Sova, Jett, Viper, Cypher and KAY/O. The Union picked Viper, Jett, Sova, Cypher, and Skye. First half score remained 9-3, the second-half score remained 4-5. But it was enough for 00 Nation to secure the win by 13-8.
Fracture map: 00 Nation picked Cypher, Neon, Brimstone, Breach and KAY/O. The Union picked Brimstone, Raze, Breach, Cypher and Sage. The Union made it 5-7 in the first half and later with a 5-6 finish in the second half, they won the game with a final score of 10-13.
Haven map: 00 Nation picked Fade, Raze, Omen, Breach and Killjoy. The Union picked Omen, Raze, Fade, Killjoy and Breach. The first half remained 5-7 and the second half score remained 2-6 which helped The Union secure the win by 7-13.
TropiCaos vs TBK Esports
Map veto – TropiCaos picked Pearl and TBK Esports picked Icebox. The Decider map was Ascent.
Pearl map: TropiCaos picked KAY/O, Astra, Killjoy, Sova and Jett. TBK Esports picked Jett, Skye, Harbor, Killjoy and Viper. The first half remained 6-6 and with a 3-7 score TBK Esports secured the win.
Icebox map: TropiCaos this time picked Harbor, Viper, Killjoy, Sova and Jett while TBK Esports picked Reyna, Sova, Harbor, Viper and Killjoy. The first-half score remained 8-4 and the second-half ended 5-1. TropiCaos won the game.
Ascent map: TropiCaos picked KAY/O, Omen, Killjoy, Sova and Jett. TBK Esports picked Jett, Sova, Omen, Killjoy and KAY/O. TropiCaos made it 8-4 in the first half but later with a 3-9 comeback, TBK Esports won the game with an 11-13 score.
Conclusion:
Week 1 ended with these matches as The Union and TBK Esports got their respective victories. The standing remains – Keyd Stars at the top followed by ODDIK in 2nd, The Union in 3rd and TBK Esports in 4th position respectively.
