OpTic Gaming Scump retires from the professional Call of Duty scene
Seth “Scump” Abner is one of the oldest and most well-known names in the professional Call of Duty (CoD) gaming scene. His career as a pro Call of Duty player started back in 2011, and now, around 12 years later, the player is retiring from this industry.
Scump and his former team, OpTic Texas, both tweeted about Seth’s departure from the pro gaming scene. The player’s tweet included a thank you message, along with an almost 6-minute long video on his Twitter page which showed some of the moments he experienced in his long career as a pro Call of Duty player.
As for OpTic Texas, the team tweeted with a new poster announcing Scump’s retirement. The tweet also had a thank you message for the pro CoD player, Scump.

Seth “Scump” Abner has been a prominent name in the professional Call of Duty scene for years now. The player started his career as a professional CoD player back in 2011 when he played for Team Obey. Later, throughout the years, he played for several other eSports organizations like Quantic LeveraGe, OpTic Gaming, apeX eSports NA, Team Envy, and more. Before his retirement, the last team he played for is OpTic TEX, or OpTic Texas, of which he has been a member since November 2021.
As for his major achievements and accomplishments, he was the champion of the Call of Duty World League Championship 2017 when he played for OpTic Gaming. And, he was also an X Games Gold Medalist during the MLG Pro League – 2015 Season – Season 2 – Playoffs.
