Know the New Frontiers Update
Dota 2 patch 7.33, the New Frontiers update, alters a significant portion of what you already know and love about the MOBA. The map has grown for the first time in the game’s history and is now 40% bigger. The map is unquestionably the highlight of the update, but there are also neutral item redemption tokens, a new class of hero attribute called Universal, a redesigned Black King Bar standard item, tougher neutral creeps generally, and shorter stun durations all around. The extended map now has two Roshan pits, one at each end. There are a ton of recently painted buildings as well. After a brief channel, Twin Gates lets you teleport from one end to the other. Lotus Pools, which offers medicinal fruit. Watchers, which function as a kind of ever-present observation ward, must be activated.
Roshan has access to two pits in April Update
Roshan now has access to two pits in this latest April update. These watch the beast alternate between the two depending on the time of day as it rests in the corners of the map rather than in the river. It is the first unit to spawn as soon as the match begins. In one-on-one combat, he easily outmatches practically any hero in the early to mid-game. During the mid-game, very few heroes can take him on alone.
It will therefore be on the Radiant side during the day and at Dire during the night when using the Twin Gates, making it a much more dynamic objective and adding more factors into how players must plan their approach. Roshan has undergone additional changes that strengthen the goal and change what players can anticipate. 20 minutes into each game, two brand-new mini-bosses called Tormentors have been added close to the map’s offlane regions.
A new category for heroes has been added by Valve called Universal Heroes, which will retroactively consider 31 heroes like Io, Windranger, and Void Spirit. They have 0.6 damage per attribute point instead of primary and no secondary attributes. Effects have also undergone significant revision.
Disables are one example of this, which are being cut back to allow players to be stunned for shorter periods. Debuff immunity has also been used in novel contexts. When scrolling through the patch notes, the list of changes for heroes like Arc Warden, Batrider, Venomancer, Zeus, Techies, Primal Beast, and more can fill more than half the screen. That doesn’t even begin to cover the countless updates for common items, neutral items, and other game components, such as the Wraith Pack’s eventual removal.
