Personality
Miranda Keyes, like her father, was regarded as one of the UNSC’s bravest officers despite being relatively inexperienced in comparison. This was shown in several instances, including her choice to follow Regret’s flagship into ‘Slipspace’ during the Battle of Mombasa. She would have killed Thel’ Vadam at the Battle of Installation 05 if it were not for his skill in battle and quick reflexes. The fact is that just moments before she was killed, she crashed her Pelican through the Citadel’s wall in the Battle of Installation 00 in a desperate attempt to save Johnson.
Gameplay
Keyes is an invincible character and does not appear as a selectable character in the game. She does not bleed in a physical fight; instead, she only bleeds if shot at or caught in a grenade explosion. In the Halo 2 level Cairo Station, if you repeatedly do either of the things, she will groan. In Halo 3, if you melee her or shot at her for a while, she will scream wildly.
General Trivia
Miranda wears a silver oak leaf in Halo 2, which indicates the position of Commander, but a gold oak leaf in Halo 3, which stands for the rank of Lieutenant Commander. She was a commander, as evidenced by the three full golden bars on her uniform’s shoulder boards and sleeve ends; a lieutenant commander wears two full bars and one thinner bar. This most likely indicates that she is still a full commander and that the golden oak leaf on her uniform in Halo 3 is an error in the game’s design.
