Celeste developer, Extremely OK Games, Ltd. has announced their new game titled Earthblade
One of the new games that were announced in this year’s The Game Awards show is Earthblade. This is a 2D side-scroller platformer action game that is being made by the Celeste developer, Extremely OK Games, Ltd.
In the show, apart from the game’s announcement, we also got to see an announcement trailer and even got to know in which year the game is coming out.
What is Earthblade all about?
Earthblade is an upcoming game where the players will play as an enigmatic child of Fate called Névoa who has returned to earth. The game is being described by the developers as an explore-action platformer.
This game will feature a gorgeous pixel art world that is vast with tons of exploration, challenging combat and numerous mysteries to unravel. You have to travel the remnants of this ruined world, where you will come across numerous mysterious beings. Some of these will be your friends, whereas others would be your foes, and you need to be wary of those.

In the announcement, Extremely OK Games, Ltd. also showed a new trailer that had a bit of gameplay in it, and also provided a brief glimpse at some of the in-game locations where the players will spend their time in.
When is Earthblade releasing?
Although a specific release date has not yet been revealed, in The Game Awards show it was revealed that the game would be coming out sometime in 2024. So, yes, there is a bit of a long wait before it is available.
Why has Earthblade got people excited?
The creator of Earthblade is Extremely OK Games Ltd., and this is the same developer that made the highly successful and critically acclaimed side-scrolling platform game, Celeste. The game came out back in January 2018 and it was available on all the major platforms such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, Mac, and Linux.
In that game, the player played as a young woman, Madeline, and the game involves her adventures as she attempts to climb the Celeste Mountain, but she faces not only physical hurdles but mental ones as well.
Almost whoever played the game, loved it, and now when the same developer has announced a new side-scroller game, the fans are quite excited again.
