Valorant Team Deathmatch: Release date, Features, and more
In the recent Dev Diaries video, Riot Games didn’t reveal the exact release date for Valorant Team Deathmatch but confirmed its release to happen alongside the launch of Episode 7. Valorant Episode 7 Act 1 is expected to launch on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, and the TDM-styled game mode will also be added to the game with the new update.
As mentioned, Ho also revealed some crucial details about Valorant Team Deathmatch. Here’s what he said during the latest “Dev Diaries” episode:
Since Anna has basically confirmed that we have been working on ‘Valorant’s take on Team Deathmatch,’ we might as well announce that you’ll be able to play it with the launch of Episode 7. It’ll be a fast paced mode featuring tactical gunplay with weapons across the arsenal, agents and their abilities, and new maps built specifically for the mode.
Per the confirmation, Valorant Team Deathmatch will allow players to choose their preferred agents (abilities) and use their suitable weapon. Valorant’s take on TDM will also be fast-paced mode, with a special focus on tactical gunplay. Lastly, Riot Games will release maps exclusively built for Valorant Team Deathmatch.
Valorant Team Deathmatch: How to Play, Features, and More
Apart from initially dropping minor hints about the gameplay structure of Valorant Team Deathmatch, Riot Games has finally unveiled the official trailer of the much-awaited game mode. The developers have revealed the primary features alongside three maps of Valorant’s TDM-styled mode.
Per the new confirmations, Valorant Team Deathmatch will have a duration of Nine minutes and thirty seconds, divided into four stages. Valorant’s TDM will have a respawn frequency of 1.5 seconds, and both teams will aim to reach 100 kills. The first team to reach the target kill count before the time runs out will be declared the winner.
If the time runs out and neither of the teams has reached 100 kills, the squad with a higher number of executions on the tally will win the match. However, if the scores are tied, the match will end in a draw. During the match, whenever a player gets killed, they will get respawned in the Spawn Room with a buff that will protect players from any damage or abilities for 15 seconds.
However, players will start taking damage after 15 seconds in Spawn Room.

Weapon Loadouts and Weapon Spawners
Players will get to choose a loadout for each stage during the match. One can also change/choose a loadout whenever they are in the Spawn Room. In addition to the choice of loadouts, the lethality of the loadouts will also upscale with each passing stage of a Valorant Team Deathmatch. Still, players will not have to worry about spending anything, as Riot Games has not implemented an “economy” system. Besides the loadouts, each match will feature Weapon Spawners for both teams.
The Weapon Spawners will remain available at specific locations on a map accessible to all players regardless of the team. The weapons available in the Weapon Spawners will have limited ammo and might vary from match to match. Moreover, they are specific to a particular stage of the TDM and will upgrade in terms of effectiveness as the match progresses. Players can drop these weapons to destroy them anytime and return to their base loadout.
Orbs and abilities
Like Weapon Spawners, players can pick Recovery and Ultimate Orbs that will be placed across a Valorant Team Deathmatch map. Recovery Orbs, with a 30-second respawn duration, will provide a six-second buff to restore health and shields. At the same time, Ultimate Orbs will spawn periodically in certain sections of a map.
Ultimate Orbs will help players to charge up some percentage of their Ultimate abilities. Apart from the Orbs, players can recharge some percentage of their Ultimate abilities through kills. Therefore players will need to up their percentage to 100% to get their Ultimate ability.
Besides, the abilities will refresh and charge up as the match progresses after each cooldown. Understandably, each ability will have a different recharge time.
