Despite only being introduced a few chapters ago, both Uruha and Samura had become two of the most beloved characters of the manga readers. However, with the latest issue, not only did we learn that Samura is the one who back-stabbed Kamunabi but Uruha might be dead as well. Although fans knew there was someone leaking information to the Hishaku, nobody expected the blind sword-wielder Samura to be the betrayer.
Kagurabachi Chapter 57 Explained: Hiruhiko Tells Chihiro About Samura
Titled ‘Collapse’ the latest chapter begins with Samura killing all the Hishaku assassins with Tobimune. The one who was controlling the trees was able to run away. Everyone thanks Samura for saving their lives with the Tobimune Enchanted Sword. Hakuri, who is being carried by Uruha, says that he can grab the Kumeyuri sword as well. But a Makizumi member says he needs to rest before using his sorcery again. Samura asks if everyone is okay and we find out one Kamunabi sorcerer named Ryo Fuura has died.
A sorcerer says that he didn’t die in vain since this is the turning point for them as they now have an Enchanted Blade. But Samura says it’s only the beginning. The scene moves to the theater where Hiruhiko mentions the Kamunabi getting Tobimune. Chihiro realizes that it was Hakuri’s doing and feels hopeful. However, Hiruhiko soon starts a conversation with him about the Enchanted Blades and asks him why he is so hell-bent upon saving the Enchanted Sword bearers when he saw Shinuchi’s powers at the Rakuzaichi.
Chihiro remembers how terrible the blade’s power actually was and how he felt the presence of the original sword bearer even though Kyora Sazanami was using it. Even his father Kunishige refused to talk about the Shinuchi blade and its wielder. He asks if the swordmasters aren’t the heroes that need to be protected. To this Hiruhiko says that Samura believes so and that he wants the contracted sword-wielders to die. And that’s why he made a pact with Yura three years ago.
Hiruhiko Starts Wielding Kumeyuri And Uruha’s Life Might Be In Danger
Chihiro can’t believe Samura could say something like that. Hiruhiko’s words suggest that Samura is the traitor who was supplying information to the Hishaku and helping them. Soon after it’s revealed, Hiruhiko tells Chihiro that their only worry is fighting each other to death. Suddenly, a sword emerges from the stage and Chihiro cuts off Hiruhiko’s other arm. However, the young Hishaku sorcerer quickly moves to the new sword and grabs it with his teeth. His own origami-based sorcery falls apart as he likely becomes the new contracted user of the Enchanted Blade.
Soon, beautiful doll-like figures emerge from the blade that Hiruhiko grabs, and Chihiro recognizes the sword as Kumeyuri. The sword finding a new bearer suggests that its former owner Uruha is dead. However, the manga has yet to confirm whether he has been killed or if his contract with the sword was nullified in some other way. Fans think that Samura might have killed Uruha to grant Hiruhiko the new ownership of the sword. In the next chapter, we will likely get an all-out battle between Chihiro and Hiruhiko. The status of Uruha, Hakuri, and the others will also be revealed.
