Top 5 players according to role
G2 Hel is prominently represented, as expected, with Caltys, Colomblbl, and Karina ranking among the Top 10 peak LPs. Kyanna and Cosmic are two of the many spokespeople for QLASH Midnight.
German players appear to have taken their season-ending grinding exceptionally seriously, as seen by their 5 Top 10 finishes. They also had the most slots in the top LP, with three; France came in second with two.
The female sector has always had a tiny player pool for the role of top, but this year’s introduction of some good players has helped. However, Sanah, a seasoned performer in her third year in the female arena, gets the top spot in peak LP.
Mid has the lowest average Top 5 peak LP of any role while having a larger player base than them. This is due to the absence of notable players like those of Top or Jungle. The best players are more evenly matched, yet that also leads to a lot more competition.
The average Top 5 end-of-season LP for Jungle is the lowest. Despite this, it includes Karina from G2, one of the two Challenger peakers. Additionally, the 19-year-old Tunisian star Blinky is the sole player in the role from outside of Europe.
The highest peak LP and highest end-of-season LP are only shared by 5 individuals in the bot position. With three German actors in the Top 5, it is also the only role with such a strong national representation.
Support has, unsurprisingly, the highest average ranking for both peak and season-ending LP. It has the most talent because it is by far the most popular role among female gamers. This season, there were 14 Grandmaster+ peakers, and 8 of them were supporters.
Top 10 players overall
It’s encouraging to note that since 2020, women’s participation in esports has grown significantly. Female teams and players have made considerable progress in the field, and their abilities and accomplishments are now more frequently acknowledged and praised. Given that esports has historically been a male-dominated industry, it is especially crucial to encourage diversity and inclusion in all spheres, including gaming. With league of legends season 13 coming in 2023, we expect more female participation.
