Tweek and MkLeo Sign to Luminosity Gaming
The largest dual-signing in the history of the scene has helped Luminosity Gaming strengthen its Super Smash Bros Ultimate roster. MkLeo and Tweek, the organisation’s two newest Ultimate players were revealed yesterday. MkLeo and Tweek have one of the most legendary rivalries in Smash history. They are frequently cited as two of, if not the best, Smash Ultimate players in history. They will now compete for the same team.
Greatest Smash Roster of all time
MkLeo and Tweek were both fired from their previous companies earlier this year. Within five days, MkLeo’s three-year contract with T1 and Tweek’s four-year partnership with TSM ended. Smash fans were concerned that their tier-one orgs’ decisions to drop them might have long-term detrimental effects on the scene in terms of how players were compensated. However, fans should feel hopeful and filled with faith as a result of Tweek and MkLeo simultaneously joining Luminosity.
Given that the organisation’s all-star lineup already includes top-tier Mr Game & Watch player Maister, the addition of two of Ultimate G.O.A.T.’s also catapults Luminosity to the top of the Smash ecosystem from a competitive standpoint. This weekend’s Smash Ultimate Summit 6, which will be the last Summit tournament to be hosted by Beyond the Summit, will feature Luminosity’s debut Tweek and MkLeo, who have already won significant tournaments in 2023. Due to financial difficulties, the venerable company known for its exclusive and well-attended Melee and Ultimate tournaments will shut its doors later this year.
Conclusion
The addition of MKLeo and Tweek to the Luminosity roster shows the company is committed to competing at the top level of esports. On the Beyond the Summit Twitch channel, Smash Ultimate Summit 6 had begun yesterday and will run all weekend, with the Ultimate singles bracket taking place on March 26. The stage is all set for an exciting new chapter in these two talented players’ careers.
