Damon Barlow aka Karma
Damon Barlow popularly known as Karma is a former professional Call of Duty player who is of Canadian and American descent. He is the first person to win the Call of Duty Championship three times, taking home back-to-back championships with Fariko Impact, compLexity Gaming, and OpTic Gaming in 2013 and 2014 as well as in 2017. He won a gold medal for OpTic Gaming at the 2015 Major League Gaming X Games. Matt “Nadeshot” Haag, the team’s departing captain, was replaced by Karma at OpTic.
Karma earned the fifth-highest total prize money while playing professional Call of Duty. Because he was the first player to win three World Championships, he is frequently referred to as “3 Rings” aka “GOAT” by the community.
Career
With the debut of Call of Duty: World at War, he began to demonstrate his true abilities, but owing to the game’s lack of fan support, his talent mainly remained undetected. Like many other gamers, he decided not to participate in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 owing to the lack of support. He joined the newly established squad Impact after Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s release, bringing high hopes with him. The line-up was changed because the team’s expectations weren’t met despite their strong performances in the first two competitions.
First significant opportunity
Call of Duty: Black Ops’ release provided him with his first significant opportunity to shine. His first significant competition was MLG Columbus 2011, when he and his team, yunGunZ, finished a respectable tenth. The team showed indications of growth going into the following competition, placing sixth at MLG Anaheim 2011. Karma quickly demonstrated why he is still regarded as one of the best in the game as the team has won their first two events together at UMG Philadelphia 2014 as well as Call of Duty Championship 2014. The roster change by compLexity after a playoff victory at the MLG Fall Championship had also been met with a lot of criticism. Karma and the rest of the team have established themselves as the undisputed favourites going into every competition after winning the greatest championship of the year.
