Rage of War – Introduction
Various wargames and historical-themed titles have been introduced so far, but very few have stressed the ancient world and even fewer than that focus on Rome. The original version of Age of Empires was really great, but after that, the next focus was on Eidos’ Praetorians. And in a few months, only three new strategy games related to the Roman period have been brought to us. The recent one is Legion, one more is Empire Earth and the very new from Bulgaria-based Haemimont, i.e., Celtic Kings.
Celtic Kings – Demo
A game demo has been played, showing the wars between the Gauls and Romans during the first century BC. The northern Gallic tribes have a common border with the Roman Republic and Julius Caesar. All they look forward to is the power that can bring back the glory. This turns the Roman forces against its actual rival, namely Vercingetorix.
Celtic Kings – Factions
The game consists of four factions, but only Gauls and Romans can be played among them. The Romans specialised in their tactics and strategies. And the Gauls depend on the bravery of Gallic soldiers who deal with the society’s disunity and lack of tactical organisation. The game’s third faction is the Druids, who are the most mysterious and have great power. The Teutons came in fourth place with unified Germanic people who travelled the Rhine and tried to build a new territory for themselves.
Celtic Kings – Heroes
The heroes are the most significant unit. Heroes come on white horses and are a great inspiration to their units. Attach units by selecting the unit and then clicking on the hero. The heroes bring you rewards as well. You can also have your own troops.
Rage of War – Environment & Map
The environment includes trees, wolves and other animals too that wander there. The maps are enormous and have around 32000 pixels on each side. The game has a separate jump map. If you press on the space bar, you can have a whole version of the map. There will be multiplayer options too. You can also opt for complete destruction.
It can be said that Celtic Kings will deliver great strategic action. All we need to do now is practice the early build until the game somewhat ships in the next month. You can check out the Rage of War gameplay on their YouTube channel.
