Aidan Gordin aka rocker leaves Apex Legends esports
One of the North American Apex Legends professional players, Aidan Gordin better known as rocker, announced his retirement. The former professional player’s official Twitter handle read, “quitting”. The professional player is unable to enjoy the game anymore and is tired of competing and grinding for the game. For now, he will not be playing any Battle Royale games, but if ever he decides to come back, Apex Legends will not be the game for sure.
His journey as an Apex player
He began to play Apex Legends when the game launched back in the year 2019. On his YouTube channel, rocker used to upload videos of him playing the game. Later in May 2020, NRG Esports picked him up by recognizing his talent. rocker became the third member in the roster of Nafen aka Nathan Nguyen and Frexs aka Joseph Sanchez. He played for NRG Esports and Cloud9 which remained his main teams.
Success with NRG Esports
Together they went on to win multiple titles which begin with the success in ALGS Online #6 North America and later he and the team always finished in the top 10 positions. But the team failed to secure any first-place finish in 2021. ALGS: 2022 Championship was the last tournament for the rocker in NRG esports’ jersey where the team got placed in 9th position.
He then left the team and remained a free agent. Cloud 9 picked him up as their third player where he mostly competed with his new squad. But the game time with Cloud9 didn’t go well for him and the team. Finally, he landed up with Osivien where his tenure didn’t come out to be good.
Quitting the career
On TwitLonger, rocker went on to describe the whole reason behind his retirement and stated that he no longer gets interested in playing Apex Legends or Battle Royal games. He will move on to a different genre where he will compete professionally. For him, Apex is just like an extra thing and grinding is no longer a solution just like streaming. Before ending his career, he thanked everyone who supported him for the celebrated 4 years that he dedicated to the game.
The 4 long years as an Apex Legends player hereby come to an end for the 19-year-old American. Over the span, he remained with two organisations and had a well-established career.
