What Can You Expect From Astro Royale Chapter 17?
The previous chapter of the manga focused almost entirely on Gido’s past. In the end, he was seen trying to bite Hibaru’s arm off and was shocked by the latter’s mental fortitude. Fans can expect Hibaru to defeat Gido and have a heart-to-heart with his former friend. Terasu might also get involved since he was pretty close to Gido when the Yotsurugi Family functioned under Kongo Yotsurugi. After successfully beating Kiyochika Gido, Hibaru, Terasu, and the rest of their allies will likely move on to their main target – Shio Yotsurugi.

The latest chapter of Astro Royale begins with Hibaru landing a powerful punch on Gido’s face. The narrative moves to a flashback and Gido remembers how he was bullied by his parents and classmates throughout his childhood because of his disfigured teeth. Gido thought of his abusers as ants who only attack weaker prey. After years of torment, the boy finally fought back and bit an attacker’s finger off. During this time, Shio Yotsurugi hired him and Gido started to kill people for the Yotsurugi Yakuza family. Although he could not sleep at night thinking about the crimes he committed, he never stopped respecting Shio who had saved his life.
We come back to the present to see Gido bite into Hibaru’s arm, drawing blood. Despite this, Hibaru does not move and says he admires the way Gido chose to fight for Shio until the end. He says he wants to have that honor engraved onto his arm as a bite mark. Faced with such a transparent and righteous opponent, Gido thinks that the presence of a king is truly overwhelming.
