KRAFTON Inc., a video game publisher behind various successful titles, revealed its 1Q24 preliminary earnings on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. According to the report, the South Korean game company achieved a record-high sales of 1Q24 sales of KRW 665.9 billion. At the same time, it also registered massive operating profit of KRW 310.5 billion, alongside a net profit of KRW 348.6 billion in the first quarter.
In 3Q23 the company had earned KRW 534.6 billion in sales and KRW 164.3 billion of operating profit. Thus, according to the recent press release, it has registered 24.6% and 89% QoQ (Quarter on Quarter) jumps in sales and OP, respectively. At the same time, KRAFTON has also registered 23.6%, 9.7%, and 30.5% YoY (Year on Year) spikes in sales, operating profit, and net profit, respectively.
Mobile Platforms Tops KRAFTON’s Sales With KRW 402.3B, Followed By Earning Of Worth KRW 255.2B On PC/Console
KRAFTON, well-known for backing titles like PUBG Mobile, PUBG: Battlegrounds, New State Mobile, Callisto Protocol, and India’s favorite BGMI, registered a staggering KRW 402.3 billion in sales across mobile platforms during the Q1. The impressive figures were followed by the PC/Console sales that worth KRW 255.2 billion.
The sales on other platforms have also accumulated KRW 8.4 billion, but PUBG: Battlegrounds has been the dominant factor. The game went F2P on PC and Console in 2022 and registered its peak in terms of MAU (monthly active users) and sales in 1Q24. PUBG Mobile, on the other hand, showcased a steady increase courtesy of the sixth anniversary theme mode and other consistent content additions.
BGMI Developer To Focus On “Diverse Publishing Experiences And Game-Centric Investments” In Indian Market
As per the Q1 2024 preliminary earnings report, Battlegrounds Mobile India saw the rollout of plenty of localized content during the first quarter of the year. The devs brought multiple India-specific events and shop additions, while also co-marketing with Bollywood movies. At the same time, the developers also introduced a UniPin web store for a third-party payment platform, which aimed at improving profitability.
The South Korean game publisher also noted the game’s stable service during the first quarter of 2024, while also revealing its plans for the Indian market. It aims at becoming the “no.1 publisher in the Indian market,” by concentrating at “diverse publishing experiences and game-centric investments” in the region.

KRAFTON Completes First Beta Test Of Its Upcoming Title “Dark and Darker Mobile”
Apart from revealing the Q1 2024 preliminary earnings, KRAFTON also announced the completion of first beta test for its next major release this year, Dark and Darker Mobile. The beta test happened for five days in April in South Korea, where around 50,000 participated.
The developers have received the feedback through the test and will focus on improving the quality of the game. The South Korean publisher also expects to launch the game through phased marketing expansion during the second half of 2024.
