However, people didn’t like the use of CGI on the villain Pernida, which marred the experience for a lot of people. After Zaraki lost his arm to Pernida, Mayuri figured out how their opponent could control others’ bodies and launched an attack.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Episode 8 Recap
After Uryu defeats Renji, Lille Barro, who was watching from afar, lowers his weapon. Elsewhere in the Soul King’s Palace, Pernida stops Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Kenpachi Zarachi’s group from moving. When Zarachi attacks him, the weird creature puts some nerves in his right hand. After he moves back, Zarachi’s arm starts twisting and turning, forcing him to cut it off. When he attacks Pernida again, the captain’s whole body is overtaken by the nerves. Mayuri stabs his chest to paralyze him, which ultimately saves his life.
However, due to the attack patterns, Mayuri is able to figure out how Pernida attacks others. The genius captain unleashes a type of poison that hurts Pernida’s nerves, causing them to change form. The body evolves into a massive left hand with an eye in the middle of the palm. Mayuri deduces that this is the Left Hand of the Soul King, while Ukitake’s body has the Right Hand. Pernida continues to fight, launching several more attacks, and Mayuri realizes that cutting off the fingers of the hand only causes more hands to appear.
The Captain then unleashes his Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo: Matai Fukuin Shotai, a tweaked version of his original Bankai. It gives birth to a special version of Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo, a giant golden baby with eight arms and millions of nerves on its skin. The baby starts crying and crawling to Pernida, whose attack has no effect as it can shed the top layers of his skin easily. The Bankai then eats the three hands, essentially defeating Pernida. Somewhere else, Bazz B wants to go and fight Haschwalth as Litotto and Giselle talk about facing Yhwach.

The title of the next issue of the anime is Don’t Chase A Shadow. From the looks of it, fans will finally get a look at Shunsui Kyoraku’s current powers as he takes on the Sternritter Lille Barro. The result of Mayuri and Pernida’s battle will also be highlighted as Yhwach will no doubt feel the loss of the Soul King’s left arm. We might also get a look at a battle between Bazz B and Haschwalth, who used to be on the same side before. With more intense battles lined up, there is much for the audience to look forward to. Hopefully, no other fights will be marred by the inclusion of CGI like the recent one.
