With their strengths combined, Lucy and Cheng-Long were able to kill her, making her the first of Satan’s children to die. Unfortunately, Lucy Yang also didn’t make it out of this battle alive.

Blue Exorcist Chapter 153 Recap
Egyn drops to the ground from a plane, and Beel immediately recognizes him. Egyn is forced to take refuge behind a rock when Beel asks Renzo to shoot at him. The scene moves to Iblis, who takes the form of a huge half-human half-serpent. She remembers how she used to toy with people in her human body a lot. We learn that Iblis also gave birth to a son and loved him a lot. But she killed him when he grew old, as she absolutely hates how humans grow filthy and weak over time.
But with her father Satan’s divine grace, she is completely invincible. However, as she looks at her hand, she notices some red marks. Her body suddenly explodes and turns extremely ugly and brittle. We learn that Lucy Yang used her illusion ability to trick Iblis. As the demon attacks her, Cheng-Long drives a sword through her head. The next few panels highlight the battle between an injured Iblis and Team C, while Cheng-Long keeps chanting a mantra over and over. He is finally able to extract Iblis’s heart and destroy it, effectively killing her.
However, Lucy Yang also seems to be on her last leg as she is extremely old. In a flashback, we see how Cheng-Long was brought up as the descendant of the Liu clan to kill Lucy. But when he finally met her, she had taken him under her wing. At present, Cheng-Long says that he will take Lucy’s throne, to which the old woman laughs. As she takes her last breath, Cheng-Long destroys the torch as it’s Team C’s job.
Blue Exorcist Chapter 154 Predictions
Now that we know Team C’s whereabouts and mission, the manga will likely move to Beel and Egyn. Since Beel is still angry with Egyn, a small fight might break out between them. However, they will probably solve their issues before teaming up to defeat Satan. In the previous chapter, Konekomaru was being chased by underground tentacles. As per Lightning’s orders, he will keep goading it towards himself. But he might be in some serious trouble if Satan’s defense catches up with him. Team D, who are heading toward the bridge, might also appear in the next issue.
