Antimatter Games and Toadman Interactive are reportedly in the work developing IGI Origins, Release date remains a mystery
IGI or I’m Going In is a popular RPG FPS game series revolving around its Protagonist David Jones former British Special Force officer. The game has been a nostalgia for many present-day gamers. Though gamers could only enjoy 2 instalments of the game as a third part is still on its way.
In this article, we will tell you about the upcoming new game which is in development and also how players enjoyed IGI 1 and IGI 2.
Let’s go back to the roots!
Project I.G.I was developed by Innerloop studios back in December 2000 and was published by Eidos Interactive. Since its release, it has been one of the most popular tactical shooter games. Players loved the game as it had a total of 14 interesting missions to play. The last mission, finding the bomb was one of the toughest compared to the time the game was released.
A new Sequel to the popular shooter
Later after 3 years, IGI 2: Covert Strike was released as a sequel to IGI. But this time developers Innerloop Studios along with Codemasters made a stealth-based first-person shooter game. This game had 19 levels and many new mechanisms were introduced. Graphics were improved and cutscenes were more appealing. IGI 2’s hardest time was the deadly wasp mission.
Will there be any IGI 3?
There have been a lot of speculations regarding IGI 3. Though this time, gamers can finally get relief as the famous series is getting another sequel. Antimatter Games along with Toadman Interactive is currently developing IGI Origins which is focused on the 1980s Cold War era. The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and players will play the character of an ex-SAS soldier.
There is no official announcement regarding the game’s release date but it is expected in 2022 end or in 2023. Though Antimatter Games have released some teaser trailers which are available on their YouTube Channel.
