Chainsaw Man Chapter 177 Recap
The Mouth Devil is freed from the Chainsaw Devil by Yoru, restoring everyone’s mouths around the world. The War Devil then uses her right hand, which she turned into a weapon using the Gun Devil, to shoot Pochita and slam him into a building. Asa asks if killing the Black Chainsaw Man will grant Denji’s wish and Yoru tells her that’s what Famine had said.
Asa inquires if she is okay with turning the Gun and Tank Devils into weapons since they were born from her. Yoru answers that since children are parents’ property, she can do whatever she wants with them. She turns her weapon on the Chainsaw Devil again, demanding he fight her. But sensing the danger, Pochita runs away. After scaring away a girl urging people to donate blood, Pochita desperately holds up the ‘Give Blood’ sign, hoping to heal his right hand which Yoru blew away.
The narrative moves to Texas, USA, where a man randomly loses his index finger. Fans find out that the index fingers of 400,000 USA National Pistol Association members also suddenly blew off. The next panel shows Yoru holding up her right hand, indicating towards the sky. When she bends her index finger, the iconic Statue of Liberty’s face starts to crack open.

Readers will find out more about Yoru’s connection with the crumbling Statue of Liberty in the next update. It is likely that she has another Devil hidden inside the statue, whom she is now calling upon. We might also see if Yoru made a deal with some USA government official as the War Devil, which enables her to blast away thousands of index fingers with a single move. The Chainsaw Devil will have to find a new way to defeat her as she continues to gain more power.
