The latest issue of Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga hit the readers with a massive twist at the end. After Yoru kisses him, Denji pushes her away. Taking control of her body, Asa tells Denji about how her mother was eaten by a devil. Still stuck in the Aging Devil’s world, Denji suddenly vomits out the Snow Devil and we see Aki and Power, who died more than 100 chapters ago.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 182 Explained: Aki And Power Are Nothing But A Flashback
At the end of the recent chapter, Denji starts vomiting after listening to Asa talk about a ‘Crapburger’. Weirdly, he barfs out the Snow Devil, which was eaten by Pochita or the Chainsaw Devil. After the devil is freed, snow starts to fall around them, even though they’re stuck in the Aging Devil’s world. The next panel shows us a boat with Power and Aki standing on the deck together. This panel has caused quite a ruckus in the fandom since both Aki and Power died more than 100 chapters ago at the hands of Makima.
However, most fans don’t think these beloved characters are ever coming back. The scene seems to be a callback to the manga’s chapter 72 when Aki took Power and Denji to visit his family grave in Hokkaido. The three of them had a lot of fun together in the snow-covered land right before everything went up in flames again. After suddenly seeing snow all around them, Denji’s mind seems to have reeled back to the trip when Power also vomited on the boat. As Aki and Power are wearing the same clothes in this chapter and the background for their panel is gray, their sudden return seems to merely be a precious memory.
How Can Denji Regurgitate Devils That Pochita Ate?
In the recent issue, Denji vomits out the Snow Devil, which was eaten by Pochita in chapter 174 of the manga. Even though Pochita was forced to throw up the Mouth Devil, the Snow Devil was likely still inside him. Previously, when Denji killed and ate the Control Devil Makima, the devil was reborn as Nayuta. This is because despite sharing the same body with Denji, only the Chainsaw Devil can wipe out another devil from existence. Denji and Pochita co-exist as two different beings using the same body and powers. But something seems to have changed.
Even though he is stuck in the Aging Devil’s world with Asa, Denji is able to vomit a devil that Pochita ate. It is likely that Pochita is somehow trying to connect with Denji from the real world. The last time we saw the Chainsaw Devil, he was struggling due to losing chunks of his body and the Aging Devil was offering him help in exchange for the death of many children. If Pochita has taken the deal, the Aging Devil might allow him access to his world. The vision of Aki and Power could also be one of the Agong Devil’s trick to make him “grow up”. Fans are eager to find out the reason behind the flashback and Denji’s sudden ability.
