Players can now earn 2XP in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" and "Warzone 2
As announced by Call of Duty on Twitter, 2XP weekend is now live. In the Double XP Weekend in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and “Warzone 2”, players can gain twice as many experience points (XP) for a predetermined amount of time. Originally scheduled for the last weekend of the game’s first season, this event is currently taking place live. In the game, experience points are required to level up and unlock new perks, weapons, and other items. Players will be able to advance through the game more swiftly and get new goods more quickly than usual.

Activision, the company that publishes the Call of Duty video game series, regularly conducts “double XP weekends” the last weekend before the start of a new season. Players will be able to level up and find new goods more quickly as a result before the new season starts. Season one of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” and “Warzone 2” was supposed to expire on February 1st, however, the release of season two had to be postponed because of the sheer volume of bug fixes and enhancements that needed to be implemented.
The double XP weekend is still going on as scheduled, despite the postponement of the start date for season two to February 15. The current event is ongoing and will go until January 30th, giving players additional time to gain more XP. Activision made the decision in order to allow players more time to grind and level up before the new season starts.
Shoot the Ship
The game’s well-known small-scale maps, like “Shoot House” and “Shipment,” are featured in the playlist “Shoot the Ship,” which is now active in “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” and “Warzone 2”. These compact maps are made for action-packed, dramatic gameplay that emphasises close combat. The playlist is seen as being popular among players, and many players are probably going to be listening to it over the next few days. This playlist is for players who prefer frantic and aggressive action and is referred to as a “small-map moshpit” since it contains a variety of game modes on short maps.
What more can gamers expect?
Activision provided more information on a blog about what gamers may anticipate in the upcoming season earlier this week. Both games will see a number of enhancements and upgrades in the upcoming season. Players may anticipate quality-of-life improvements in Warzone 2 to make the game more engaging and fluid. Additionally, “Modern Warfare 2” will receive UI improvements and bug fixes to improve the overall playing experience.
In the contentious “DMZ” game mode, there will also be an inventory wipe. As a result, all players’ inventories will be reset at the beginning of the new season, and they will have to start again without any of the weapons, perks, or other stuff they had previously obtained. Players are divided about this choice since some believe it is unjust for them to lose all of their progress.
What will the Update include?
The update will include new seasons for “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” and “Warzone 2,” as well as a new battle pass, new weapons, new maps, and other new content for all three primary game types. The game’s battle pass feature enables players to accumulate additional items and rewards as they level up and advance. Players will have new opportunities to play the game and new obstacles to face thanks to the new weaponry and maps.
On February 8th, Activision is anticipated to publish a new blog post where they will provide additional information about what players may anticipate in the upcoming season.
The current double XP weekend offer, which lets players earn twice as much XP as usual, is also scheduled to finish on January 30 at 12 p.m. CT. Before the event concludes, players still have time to grind and get XP, which might help them unlock new things.
