Crunchyroll has teamed with Tokyo-based publisher A Plus Japan to bring the global English release of Lord of Nazarick. It is an upcoming turn-based role-playing game inspired by the hit OVERLORD anime. The announcement was made with a press release on September 17 following which a trailer appeared on the Crunchyroll YouTube channel. Popular characters from the anime such as Momonga, Aura Bella Fiora, Mare Bello Fiore, and Floor Guardians like Cocytus and Shalltear Bloodfallen can be seen in the trailer.

Lord of Nazarick Release Date & Platforms
A fixed release date hasn’t been provided by the developers. Crunchyroll stated the Lord of Nazarick game will be available ahead of the theatrical release of OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom in Canada and the United States of America. Thus, the launch window for the RPG game is November 2024. This allows both new and long-time fans to understand the OVERLORD world in depth within a month.
Lord of Nazarick will be available on both Android and iOS devices. Interested gamers can pre-register the game to get exclusive rewards. However, the upcoming OVERLORD RPG title will only be available in the following countries: the United States of America, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Iceland, other EU countries, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
Apart from pre-order rewards, Crunchyroll Premium subscribers can also claim exclusive rewards. Use the Crunchyroll Login feature to gain special rewards, the official list of which includes ” in-game currency, a battle pass, and exclusive access to activations across Crunchyroll theatrical and e-commerce experiences.”
Lord of Nazarick will be one of the many anime games released this year. Similar to the Hunter-based world of Solo Leveling Arise, the upcoming title by Crunchyroll will include the original main story but from a fresh perspective. Moreover, as players battle and complete missions, they will unlock never-seen-before canonical scenarios.
What Type Of Gameplay To Expect From The OVERLORD RPG?
According to the official news, Lord of Nazarick will feature over 50 characters from the OVERLORD anime, including guardians and pleiades. More characters will be added in future updates. That said, each will belong to one of the five classes available in the game and possess three unique attributes. A total of five characters can seemingly be picked in a team.
The upcoming OVERLORD RPG title will feature dynamic gameplay. Apart from the story mode missions, there will be mini-games, boss challenges, and even roguelite dungeons. All animations, including the world design and power moves, would be in high-quality 3D experiences.
Speaking of the world, Lord of Nazarick will feature a huge open world for players to explore. Players can take their time exploring various locations from the original anime such as the Great Tomb of Nazarick, Carne Village, and E-Rantel. A visual shared by Crunchyroll also revealed that the title will include a Summon or a gacha system. This will keep the players busy trying to get the best characters.
Lord of Nazarick will also include competitive and cooperative play. Players can create alliances similar to that of Ainz Ooal Gown and defeat foes to earn rewards. Apart from that, a PvP leaderboard will keep players in pursuit of glory.
What Is The Story Of Lord of Nazarick?
The story in Lord of Nazarick is similar to that of the original Isekai anime. Momonga, the protagonist, finds himself trapped in the world of his favorite MMORPG game. He tries to find his friends who may have had a similar fate. Throughout the journey, Momonga makes friends and enemies and ultimately makes it a mission to ascend to the title of Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown.
