Demon Lord 2099 Episode 5 Recap
Titled ‘The Depths of the Crucible’ the latest episode begins with Marus breaking into Machina’s home to attack her. At first, Veltol’s subordinate is able to fend him off with her fire magic. However, when Marcus’ secretary Kinohara joins the battle, she is forced into a corner. Then, Marcus uses his magic to capture Machina and tells her how he wants to become the Demon Lord. Fans find out that he wants to use Machina as the fuel for the Immortal Furnace that is situated inside the city. When Veltol returns, he is distressed to see that Machina is missing.
Thankfully, Takahashi is able to use her hacking powers to figure out where she is right now. After figuring out Marcus is behind the abduction, the hacker deduces that they might be headed towards the Furnace. Unfortunately, Veltol is still too weak to take on Marcus alone. So he asks the former hero Gram’s help to rescue Machina. Gram agrees, and with the help of Takahashi guiding them through a communication device, they’re able to make it to the Furnace. However, a thick aether cuts off their connection at the entrance just as they come across Kinohara.

The last issue ended with Machina waking up and being extremely angry with Marcus. She will continue to argue against him in the upcoming installment. On the other hand, Gram and Veltol will have to fight off Kinohara and any other guards Marcus might have. Fans will get to see some really cool action sequences from the next episode. If Veltol is able to get into the Immortal Furnace, then he might save Machina from Marcus.
