Demon Slayer To The Hashira Training Movie Release
Demon Slayer To The Hashira Training is the sequel movie after Season 3 of Demon Slayer. The movie contains the last two episodes of Season 3 as well as the first two episodes of Season 4 with newly animated scenes from Season 3 and a glimpse at the upcoming Season 4 which releases in April.
The movie debuted in Japan on February 2, 2024, and since then it’s been released in international locations worldwide. It opened in the US and India last Friday, February 23 and today’s the end of its first weekend after a full international theatrical release.
Demon Slayer To The Hashira Training Movie Plot
Demon Slayer To The Hashira Training will re-animate the last two episodes of Demon Slayer Season 3 Swordsmith Village Arc which contains the finale of Tanjiro and Mitsuri’s battle against the 4th Ranked Upper Moon Demon and the reveal that Nezuko is resistant to and can survive the sunlight, unlike other demons. The second half of the movie will focus on Obanai the Snake Hashira and Sanemi the Wind Hashira who are battling against a horde of demons only to stumble upon the Infinity Castle which is where Muzan met the remaining Upper Moons in Season 2 of Demon Slayer.
According to the plot, the movie ends with Tanjiro and his friends meeting up with the Hashiras and requesting to train under them. Season 4 of Demon Slayer will focus on all the known characters, including the Hashiras, training to get stronger for the looming final battle against Muzan and his lackeys.
First Weekend Worldwide Box Office Collection
On Friday, February 23, according to Box Office Mojo, it opened with 5.5 million USD. Its earnings dropped to 3.5 million USD on Saturday and it only raked in 2.5 million USD on Sunday. Thus the grand total collection from its opening weekend is about 11.5 million USD– ranking it as currently second in the US Box Office.
The total collection in its domestic market, Japan, has been 9.8 million USD till today and its worldwide collection amounts to approximately 28.2 million USD. While the movie has generally been a success, most attribute it to its brand name- ‘Demon Slayer’ which is one of the most popular anime titles on the planet today.
It also helps that Ufotable, the animation studio for Demon Slayer, is back in their top game after Season 3 of the anime. Season 4 is heavily action-packed and will take us one step closer to the endgame of the series so it makes sense why the animation will get a significant improvement.
