The long story about protecting the Earth from all kinds of extra-terrestrial threats will be stretched once more with Destiny 2: The Final Shape. The DLC Expansion pack is the last of The Light and Darkness Saga, thus concluding the story that has been building since the game’s launch in 2017. It has generated massive hype among the Guardians.
Developed by Bungie, Destiny 2 The Final Shape DLC will be the sixth content expansion in the series. It is preceded by ‘Forsaken’ which was released in September 2018, ‘Shadowkeep’ released in October 2019, ‘Beyond Light’ released in November 2020, ‘The Witch Queen’ released in February 2022, and the most recent ‘Lightfall’ story released in February 2023.
Destiny 2 can be completed by Free-2-Play players. However, they will miss out on quality content, story, gameplay, and gear because they won’t be able to participate in certain Raids and Dungeons.

The first-person shooting game will redefine its RPG and sci-fi elements as the players enter ‘The Traveler’ and explore the brand-new ‘Pale Heart’ region while neutralizing the threats that it possesses.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Gameplay Features

During the trailer for the expansion DLC, we see Guardians jumping into the portal in the Traveler and a glimpse of the powers of The Witness. Cayde-6 also returns after being thought to be deceased during the proceedings of the Forsaken DLC. New enemies in the form of The Subjugators are going to be difficult to take down unless one gets their hands on the new super specials – Warlock, Titan, and Hunter.
- Warlock Solar Explosion super: Players throw ‘Sentient’ grenades that give buffs to allies and deal burn DOT damage. It is a ranged special but combines with melee abilities.
- Titan Void Axe super: A ranged special that throws titan void axes at the opponent that explode on impact. It consists of all the passive abilities of the Void class. Interestingly, allies can pick them up and use them as a melee weapon.
- Hunter Arc Teleport super: Similar to the Anthem Interceptor, the Hunter Arc special throws an electric knife at the opponent after which the player teleports closer and does melee damage. The combo can chain up to three times, which is impressive for a shooting game.
Destiny 2 The Final Shape will be the end of The Light and Darkness Saga but not the end of the game. More sagas/storylines can be introduced in the game later. Rumors state that Bungie is thinking about a Destiny 3 but there are more chances that they continue bolstering the Destiny 2 game.
