In a recent interview about her upcoming movie Kanguva, she talked about how she feels a deep emotional connection with several anime series. Moreover, she also mentioned how romance K-Dramas have a lot of similarities with Bollywood movies.
Disha Patani Loves Watching Anime And K-Drama Series
Patani is all set to act in her first Tamil movie ‘Kanguva’, which is coming out on November 14, 2024. While talking about other media formats, the actress mentioned watching the famous show Dragon Ball Z when she was a kid. “I’m fascinated by anime. The storyline they have, I don’t know if you can capture that in a film the way they emote, the kind of stories they have, whichever genre you enjoy,” she told the Press Trust of India in her interview.
According to her, the emotional connection she feels with some of the anime she has watched is “unreal”. Moreover, the actress also loves watching Korean TV series, and movies. The actress feels that a lot of romantic K-Dramas take inspiration from Bollywood. Be it their movies, music, or fashion, she loves everything about Korean culture. The actress is so fascinated by it in fact, that she often posts on her Instagram about binge-watching an anime series or listening to KPop songs while working out.
Back in February, Patani attended the movie premiere of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the Hashira Training with PVR. The actress posed for pictures with many fans and even cosplayers who were there to watch the film. Ever since then, she has become one of the favorite actresses of Indian anime fans. Hopefully, her fascination with anime and K-Drama will reach her co-workers soon.
