Know what happened on Week 1 of DPC CN 2023 Tour 1: Division 1
Dota Pro Circuit for the Chinese region (DPC CN) kicked off yesterday. The tournament is organised by Perfect World, it holds a prize pool of USD 205,000. The tournament consists of teams from previous tours, a total of 8 teams are seen in action against each other. Six teams are from Division I and two teams are from Division II. The tournament will go on till 3rd February 2023 and includes a Pro Circuit Points of 690.
DPC CN 2023 Tour 1: Division 1 follows Shanghai/ Guangdong server for the matchmaking and follows a single round-robin format. It is an online event and the matches that are played are of best of 3 games. It falls under the category of Tier 2 of Liquipedia and is under the Regional League of the Pro Circuit Tier.
Changes and rules
As stated earlier, all 8 teams are drawn into a league-based format in a single round-robin group. Two changes occurred in this league, the slot of Royal Never Give Up was transferred to Knights and the slot that was occupied by CDEC was transferred to Dawn Gaming.
Teams that will secure the top 4 positions in the standings will qualify for the major, 1st to 6th position teams will stay in the current division for the next tour. Teams that will finish at the bottom will be relegated to Division II for the next tour.
Match recaps
A set of 2 games were played as the opening matches of Week 1. The first game was between the Division I team EHOME vs the Division II team Invictus Gaming. The second game of the day was between PSG.LGD vs Dawn Gaming.
Match 1: EHOME vs Invictus Gaming
- Game 1 – The draft for EHOME included Tusk, Death Prophet, Wraith King, Disruptor, and Dragon Knight. Invictus Gaming picked Doom, Rubick, Lich, Ember Spirit, and Chaos Knight. The game went on for 32 minutes and 31 seconds with EHOME getting the win.
- Game 2 – The draft lineup for EHOME consisted of Mirana, Pangolier, Nature’s Prophet, Nyx Assassin, and Legion Commander. Invictus Gaming picked Disruptor, Tiny, Death Prophet, Batrider, and Monkey King. After 38 minutes and 56 seconds, EHOME won the game.
Match 2: PSG.LGD vs Dawn Gaming
- Game 1 – PSG.LGD’s draft included Lina, Abaddon, Marci, Phoenix, and Tiny. Dawn Gaming picked Mirana, Ember Spirit, Earthshaker, Dragon Knight, and Sven. The game lasted for 19 minutes and 57 seconds, PSG.LGD won the game.
- Game 2 – This time, the draft for PSG.LGD had Treant Protector, Ember Spirit, Centaur Warrunner, Keeper of Light, and Alchemist. Dawn Gaming went ahead with Tusk, Skywrath Mage, Shadow Fiend, Nature’s Prophet, and Zeus. The game went for around 22 minutes and 15 seconds, PSG.LGD secured their win.
