Coinciding with this year’s Halloween celebrations is Dragon Age: The Veilguard release date. The fourth major installment in the Dragon Age series by Bioware and Electronic Arts has been in development since 2015. The Veilguard is rumored to include real-time combat action inspired by God of War games but BioWare didn’t confirm it in their press release. Instead, they are focusing on delivering “expansive and dynamic stories that navigate love, loss and complex choices,” forcing players to make tough decisions that affect Veilguard.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Release Date Revealed In New Trailer
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled for a launch on October 31, 2024. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via Steam, EA App, and Epic Games Store. BioWare also opened the pre-orders for the game which start from $59.99 on PC.
Although Veilguard will retain the characteristic Dragon Age branching storylines, dialogues, and dynamic choices, the developers seem to be heavily focused on the ‘action’ part of the RPG. The press release on the official EA website noted the words of John Epler, Creative Director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, who stated the team’s goals:
“We wanted to give you the choice to really express yourself, and do that in a world full of adventure and danger. So whether you’re a Warrior, Rogue or a Mage, we can’t wait for you to gear up, gather your party, and set out for another thrilling adventure through Thedas this Halloween.”
In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players step in the shoes of Rook. The protagonist strives to become a hero in the world of Thedas by fighting corrupt Eleven gods and other enemies. Rook can journey with seven companions, Bellara, Davrin, Emmrich, Harding, Lucanis, Neve, and Taasheach, each having its own motives and backstories. They also possess diverse abilities that need to be used strategically in combat.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Pre-Order Prices And Content
Pre-orders for Dragon Age: The Veilguard are available on every confirmed platform. The Standard Edition costs $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It includes the base game along with the blood dragon armor cosmetic set for Rook for Warrior, Mage, and Rogue classes.
The Deluxe Edition of The Veilguard costs $79.99 on PC and $89.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Apart from the blood dragon armor set for Rook, it includes more cosmetics for the protagonist and his companions, amounting to 23. There are three Rook armor sets, six weapons belonging to Rook, seven companion armor sets, and seven companion weapons.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard also has exclusive merchandise called the Rook’s Offer. The merchandise can be purchased from the BioWare Gear Store for $150. According to the press release, it includes a variety of exclusive physical keepsakes such as the light-up Lyrium Dagger, a map of Thedas with a quiver tube, Rook’s deck of cards with in-game art, a potion flask, and more. A copy of the game won’t be included though, which is why it isn’t titled as ‘Collector’s Edition.’
The upcoming installment in the Dragon Age franchise will feature some of the old characters. However, the spotlight will be on Rook and his new companions as they will have unique stories and experiences to share with the player. More information about them is going to be provided on August 26 by BioWare.
