Global Championship 2023 structure revealed
The 2023 Fortnite Champion Series Global Championship roadmap and structure of the tournament are out now. The tournament is set to commence in February and holds a massive prize pool of $10,000,000. A new structure will be followed for the Global Championship which will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark in late 2023 but before that, the Majors will kick off on the 2nd of February. The announcement was revealed through an official YouTube video by Fortnite.
This year, the format includes Major 1, Major 2, Major 3 and Last Chance Major before the main Global Championship begins. And the FNCS returned with a duos format. The three majors mainly will comprise a total of 5 weeks of actions each and it replaced the previous Elite Divisional Cups.
Fortnite Champion Series Major format
The Major will begin on 2nd February where players can join in with their duo partners. The FNCS Major replaced the Elite Divisional Cups and it will go on for five weeks. Players who earned Elite Division this Season will be able to participate in FNCS Major 1. For a complete detailed view visit Epic Games’s website for the complete structure.
As stated earlier, it is divided into 5 week-structure is as followed –
- Week 1 – It will include 3 days of competition.
- Week 2 – It will also include a competition span of over 3 days.
- Week 3 – Again 3 days of action will be followed.
- Surge Week – It will serve as the last chance qualifier.
- Grand Finals – It will be 2 days of competition.
Dates of FNCS 2023
It will begin with the weekly competition before moving towards the surge week and Grand Finals.
Major 1:
From February 2nd to 19th the weekly competition will go on. Later it will be two days of action for the Surge Week from February 24-26. The Grand Final will go on from 3rd March to 5th March.
Major 2:
From 13th April to 30th April, the weekly competition will go on. The surge week will begin on 5th May and will last till 7th May. The Grand Finals will be on 12-14th May.
Major 3:
It will begin from 20th July and will go on till 6th August. The surge week will be between the 11th to 13th of August. And the Grand Finals will be played from 18 to 20th August.
Last Chance Major:
It will be played between the 24th of August and the 27th of August.
