VALORANT is rapidly entering the next phase of its competitive season
Riot Games recently announced the Valorant Premier global open beta for its new in-game competitive system. A team-based competitive system from VALORANT, Premier, allows players to form their teams and help them participate in pre-scheduled matches. The global open beta for Premier will launch along with Episode 6 Act 3 on the 25th of April. The Premier will run till the end of May, with a second beta anticipated for July. The Premier will allow Valorant players to create their teams and engage in well-organised tournaments with pre-planned games. It’s a three-stage in-game tournament platform that includes registration, weekly matches, and tournament day. Valorant Premier allows players to create teams of five to seven players to fight against other players from the same region and with similar ability levels. Players will play in weekly matches across the whole season. Players can make it to the Playoff tournament at the end of the season by securing enough points. Premier is a well-planned tournament that is different from the regular ranked games. Therefore, it carries a different set of rules for Overtime (OT) along with maps, which players must know.
Valorant Premier rules to remember
There are certain rules to remember for players in Valorant Premier:
- There are no restrictions on who may join a team.
- However, restrictions will be imposed after the enrolment of the team members.
- Division and match schedules will be determined after the roster is set and enrolled.
- Based on the average MMR of the team’s top five players, the team will be seeded into one of 20 Divisions.
- Every week the team will play up to two matches to get points for the Premier score.
- The premier score of the team will determine the team’s qualification for the Playoff tournament.
- On the last day of the Global Open Beta, the matches of the Playoff tournament will take place.
- Players will receive an opportunity to select and ban any map.
- Teams who have not selected any map will get an opportunity to choose the option of attack or defend first.
Overtime (OT) rules in the Valorant Premier
There are certain Overtime (OT) rules when two teams hit the 12-12 round score.
- Overtime Priority will be given to the first team to win 12 rounds.
- The team with Overtime Priority will vote to determine which side will start in Overtime.
- Teams will play a final round of Sudden Death once two sets of overtime have been completed.
- The team with Overtime Priority will have a choice of Sudden Death.
