Global Esports slipped to eighth position in VCT Pacific 2023 after losing against Rex Regum Qeon
VCT Pacific 2023 entered its seventh week in which Global Esports lost to Rex Regum Qeon on the second day by 2-0. The match was a must-win for both teams as they were standing in the tournament with four losses and two wins. However, Rex Regum Qeon maintained its temperament by defeating Global Esports, and advanced to sixth position in the table; whereas, Global Esports slipped to eighth position in VCT Pacific 2023. Rex Regum Qeon banned the Lotus map and picked the Fracture map; whereas, Global Esports banned the Haven map and selected the Pearl map. Split and Ascent maps were already banned, finally left with Bind map as a decider map of the match.
Match Review
Game 1: Fracture Map
The first game of the match started on the Fracture map in which Rex Regum Qeon previously played two matches in VCT Pacific 2023; whereas, Global Esports was playing on this map for the first time in this tournament. Rex Regum Qeon started the first half with first two round wins which was soon taken over by Global Esports with four consecutive round wins from rounds 3-6. However, Rex Regum Qeon fought back in the last three rounds to finish the first half with a score of 6-6. During the second half of the game, Rex Regum Qeon completely dominated Global Esports to finish with a score of 7-4. Rex Regum Qeon won the Fracture map by 13-10 to lead the match by 1-0. The first game lasted for 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 34 seconds in which EJAY from Rex Regum Qeon registered 23 kills; whereas, Monyet from Global Esports registered 25 kills.
Game 2: Pearl Map
The second game of the match started on the Pearl map which is a familiar map for both the teams in the VCT Pacific 2023. Rex Regum Qeon Started the first half of the match with a neck-to-neck battle with Global Esports. However, Rex Regum Qeon got hold of the game with a straight 5-round win from rounds 8-12 to finish the first half with a score of 8-4. The second half of the game started with dominance from Global Esports since it was crucial for the team to retain their possibility of winning the match. The team did display good gameplay by leading the second half with a score of 5-7, but it was a late call from the team since it lost the Pearl map by 13-11. The game lasted for 56 minutes, and 52 seconds in which Lmemore from Rex Regum Qeon registered 24 kills; whereas, t3txture registered 28 kills.
Global Esports did display good gameplay against Rex Regum Qeon but failed to hold their temperament and lost the match. Global Esports is in a critical position since it has just two more matches to go in the tournament; whereas, Rex Regum Qeon needs to maintain its fighting gameplay to retain its position in the top six teams for the Playoffs.
