However, it has been made very clear that the group does not stand a chance against the overpowered being. A new character might come along to save them from certain death. Another possibility is that Natsu or another member will get a sudden power awakening and be able to fight again.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Episode 5 Recap
The latest episode of the anime focused on the impending battle between the Fairy Tail Guild and Mercphobia, who is the Water Dragon God. Although Natsu doesn’t want to kill Mercphobia, it seems impossible now that he has started to destroy everything.

Karameel reveals that it is the White Witch who controls Mercphobia’s strength and she is also the one who can unleash his full potential. When Touka wakes up, she tells the Guild members that she joined them to meet Wendy. She had hoped that Wendy would be able to free her body from the White Witch’s grasp.
Right after this, the White Witch takes control of her body again and unleashes Merphobia’s magic. The Water Dragon God starts to cause destruction across the town of Ermina. Natsu agrees to kill Mercphobia although he does not want to. But when the Guild starts to fight him, they realize how strong he is and are completely overwhelmed by his power. The episode ends with White Witch Touka sitting amidst the Fairy Tail Guild members who were incapacitated by the Dragon God.
