Wastelander Challenges in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 provides players the opportunity to get heaps of XP points and unlock Battle Pass tiers. Anyone can access the new mechanic during a battle royale after the second Storm Circle. To participate in the special trials, players need to activate a Wasteland Beacon, four of which are present in the Fortnite map.
It would be an understatement to say Wastelander Challenges are tough. The challenge applies a modifier for the rest of the game and players need to cope until they get the Victory Crown. Among the most difficult challenges is Perma-Damage, which disables the use of Health and Shield items.
4 Tips To Complete Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 Perma-Damage Wastelander Challenge
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has four Wasteland Beacons and six different challenges. The Beacons can be found at Rebel Roost, east of Classy Courts past the waterbody, south of Reckless Railways near the Dumpenhausen landmark, and at the southernmost area of the Map.
The challenges are randomized, meaning any modifier can be applied to one’s game. Overcome the Fortnite Perma-Damage Wastelander Challenge by following the tips mentioned below:-
Use Vehicles Throughout The Game
In Perma-Damage, players can no longer rely on their shield items for safety. This is why they must choose to remain inside vehicles for most of the game. The latest buffs to vehicles have increased their durability while the addition of Nitro allows cars to cover more ground and carry players to the next safe zone.
A wise strategy is to capture War Buses from NPC patrollers as soon as they get the Perma-Damage Wastlander Challenge from the Beacon. These buses pack power and durability. One could even take control of a Mythic Nitro Car without risking a Boss fight by exploiting a Fortnite glitch.
Traverse The Wasteland For Slurp Cacti
Slurp Cacti is exclusively available in the southern part of the Fortnite map, i.e., the Wasteland. Interestingly, the Fortnite Perma-Damage Wastelander Challenge makes an exception for the cacti, allowing players to use them to restore their shield and health.
Running over a Slurp Cactus will replenish a vehicle’s durability. This is especially crucial to survive in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3.
Pack Loads Of Nitro Splash Or Obtain Megalo Don’s Medallion
Nuka-Cola and The Machinist’s Medallion are unusable in the Fortnite Perma-Damage Wastelander Challenge. That said, Nitro Splash and Megalo Don’s Medallion make up for their place. Nitro Splash can be obtained as floor loot, chest loot, or from Nitro Barrels and they increase a vehicle’s and character’s speed in combat.
Alternatively, players can try to get Megalo Don’s Medallion. It provides infinite Nitro throughout the game. Suppose, when your vehicle is attacked, you can use the Nitro to avoid the confrontation and regroup, avoiding taking any damage.
Hire Triage Trooper For Healing
Triage Trooper can be recruited from the Rescue Station for 200 Gold Bars. The NPC will regularly gift items to players which will help them restore their health. However, the medic will only throw two consumables at a time before entering a cooldown so try not to pick up many fights.
There is likely to be a long line of players battling at the Rescue Station to get the medic’s services. As such, one will have to get their hands dirty early in the battle royale.
The Perma-Damage challenge puts players on the backfoot when it comes to combat. They cannot play aggressively and bide their time while moving to the edges of the safe zone. Camp throughout the game inside buildings or hide in corners to survive till the end.
