Call of Duty Next 2023 finally unveiled the upcoming Urzikstan BR map for the new iteration of Warzone that will connect with Modern Warfare III. Additionally, developers made several revelations and announcements regarding the face of Warzone post MW3’s launch, which also included the confirmation of the return of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep maps.
Both maps will arrive in COD WZ in 2024, with Fortune’s Keep arriving early next year. Rebirth Island, also making its debut in the mobile version of WZ on its global launch, will make its way to Call of Duty: Warzone later in 2024. Apart from the return of maps, while working with Treyarch, Raven Software will bring brand-new ranked experience in WZ, as claimed by the developers during the COD Next live stream.
Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island Maps To Be A Part Of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Resurgence Rotation
As mentioned, Fortune’s Keep will arrive early in 2024, while the other map is expected to return much later the same year. However, after the launch of Modern Warfare III, the developers refrained from confirming an exact release window for both iconic maps in Call of Duty: WZ.
Besides confirming the return of both maps during COD Next 2023 live stream, Ted Timmins, Senior Creative Director at Raven Software, also revealed that High Moon Studios and Beenox, respectively, have also partnered to bring back both maps, which they originally developed.
Here’s everything Timmins revealed about the return of both maps during the Call of Duty Next 2023 live stream:
“Yeah! I mean, first of all, this is amazing. To have this opportunity … and for me to speak on the behalf of Raven and the whole Warzone team … And I have said already, our goal is to make 2024 the best year of WZ … so when we sat down, I thought about it like how do we … how do we deliver that to our players. So, next year, we will be adding Fortune’s Keep to the Resurgence map rotation. It’s back.”
“So, the best part of this, by the way, is no one here knows, okay? So, after the one more thing, if that wasn’t enough, we have Rebirth Island to satisfy the dedicated community … So, early next year, we have Fortune’s Keep. Just following, we have Rebirth Island… And I’d love to just give such a big shout out to our partners and friends at High Moon Studios and Beenox … because without them, these maps wouldn’t have been possible … So, big kudos to those guys.”
Both maps will be a part of Resurgence’s map rotation, which fans will experience next year in Call of Duty WZ. There have been other interesting announcements around Modern Warfare III, WZ, and WZM, which fans can check out in Call of Duty’s blog on COD Next 2023.
