On Monday, September 4, 2023, Garena made a crucial announcement about releasing its upcoming BR game, Free Fire India, the region-exclusive variant of Free Fire. The Singaporean game company confirmed that the Free Fire India release date has been postponed by a few more weeks to ensure the game offers the best possible experience.
Here’s what developers wrote in the recent Instagram post of the game’s official account:
“We are delighted by the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from our Indian community to the announcement of the launch of Free Fire India. To ensure we can offer the best possible experience to all of our Free Fire India fans from the start, we will postpone the launch by a few more weeks.”
They continued,
“In addition to refining the gameplay, we are taking some time to fully complete our localisation of the Free Fire India experience. We would like to thank our Free Fire India community for your support, and hope that you will bear with us while we work on bringing you the ultimate battle royale experience.”
For the unversed, the Indian variant of Free Fire was scheduled for a release on Google Play Store and Apple App Store on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. However, players will need to wait a few more weeks until the game gets a nationwide re-launch.
Garena Delays Free Fire India Release, As Pre-registrations Remain Online On Google Play Store
Although Garena has postponed the release of the Indian version of Free Fire, players needn’t worry as the game is still coming out, albeit a few weeks late. The Singaporean publishers haven’t revealed a specific release date yet after announcing the delay in the launch scheduled on September 5.
However, the pre-registrations for the game are still active on the Play Store, and fans can tap here to visit the official page on Google’s virtual application store. The Indian variant has been offered by Garena International III instead of Garena International I, which offers the original Free Fire (outside India) and Free Fire MAX.
The game offers multiple unique features like Playtime Limits, ‘Take A Break’ Reminders, Age Limits, Diamond Spending Limits, and more. At the same time, the gameplay experience will largely remain the same. However, the most hyped addition to Free Fire’s Indian variant is the MS Dhoni character.
Note: Garena has not revealed much about releasing the Indian variant of Free Fire. Readers can follow the India-based official social handles of the game to get notified of the release date.
