After over a year and a half since the Government of India banned Free Fire (February 2022), Garena announced the game’s return to the Indian market. However, much like Battlegrounds Mobile India, Garena’s popular BR game returns under a localized title, Free Fire India, with a tagline “India ka Battle Royale,” which translates to India’s Battle Royale.

After maintaining the secrecy around the behind-the-scenes developments, Garena dropped an announcement trailer for Free Fire India, featuring iconic Indian athletes like Sunil Chhetri, Leander Paes, Rahul Chaudhari, and Saina Nehwal. The trailer also revealed 5 September as the re-launch date for Free Fire India on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Free Fire India Pre-Registrations Are Open As Garena Confirms The Re-Launch Date
As Garena announced the return of its popular survival shooter in India, the Singaporean game company also confirmed the game’s availability on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The pre-registrations for the game are open for all Indian users, as the game is scheduled to launch soon. Here are the pre-registration links for Free Fire’s Indian variant:

Garena International I published Free Fire and Free Fire MAX on the Google Play Store. However, Free Fire India has been published under Garena International III. Furthermore, players can observe a similar scenario for the Apple App Store, where Free Fire India has not been published under Garena International I Private Limited.
As there are still a few days left for the launch of Free Fire’s Indian version, players can expect an almost identical adaptation of the original game with minor tweaks. As mentioned, Indian sportspersons like Sunil Chhetri, Leander Paes, Rahul Chaudhari, and Saina Nehwal have been roped in as brand ambassadors for the upcoming game.
At the same time, some reports from outlets like Esportsgen and Times Now have reported Indian legendary cricketer MS Dhoni to be one of the brand ambassadors of Free Fire India. Although the announcement trailer didn’t feature Dhoni’s glimpse, readers can expect Garena to officially respond to such reports.
