Hosted by Canadian gaming journalist Geoff Keighley, Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live kicked off on August 20. The event lasted two hours and was streamed on the official Xbox YouTube channel. Not only did the event unveil multiple gameplay trailers but also officially disclosed the release dates for some of the major titles.
All Game Release Dates Disclosed During The Gamescom 2024 Announcements
Last year, fans got a glimpse of Cyberpunk 2077 and Diablo 4. Gamescom 2024 is living up to the expectations even though the event has just started and will end on August 25. Revelations involving Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Marvel Rivals have piqued the interest of fans.
The release dates of these five games were revealed during the Gamescom 2024 announcements:-
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Release Dates For All Platforms
One of the eagerly awaited Gamescom 2024 announcements was that of Machine Games’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. A new trailer disclosed that the action-adventure title will be on both Xbox and PlayStation apart from getting a Steam release. For those unfamiliar with the recent developments, the game will feature an original narrative from the Indiana Jones movie franchise.
According to the official news, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 9, 2024, for PC and Xbox. A PlayStation 5 version is slated for spring 2025 (March to June).
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Gameplay And Launch Date
Sid Meier’s Civilization franchise continues to expand, now expecting a seventh entry. Civilization VII Gameplay Reveal Trailer features the same turn-based strategy as previous entries but with better quality visuals and improvements. More factions are seemingly going to be added to the game. The trailer features British, Egyptian, Roman, and other armies.
Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 release date is set for February 11, 2025. Pre-order editions are currently available on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Part I and Part II Release Dates
Don’t Nod, the developer of Life is Strange, will be releasing another narrative adventure game. Lost Records: Bloom and Rage is set in 1990s and tells the story of four girls. The World Premiere Trailer showcases the girls watching footage of their high school life, reminiscing and bonding, but the events take an unexpected turn as the “Bloom and Rage” group gets targeted by a mystery person
Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, Lost Records: Bloom and Rage’s story will be divided into two parts or ‘tapes.’ Tape 1 and Tape 2 will be released on February 18 and March 18, 2025, respectively.
Marvel Rivals Launch Date Revealed Alongside Two New Characters
After a leak revealed their entries, NetEase has confirmed that Captain America and The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) are joining the Marvel Rivals characters list. The new ‘Stars Aligned – Official Launch Date Announcement Trailer’ features the two best buddies in Marvel resorting to weapons and fistfights. While Captain America can use his shield to block damage and pull off ranged stunts, Bucky uses his mechanical arm to hook opponents before raining bullets on them.
The trailer revealed that Marvel Rivals will be launched on December 6, 2024, on Steam, EPIC Games Stoe, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. More characters, like Moonknight and Black Widow, could be added to the roster prior to the global launch.

Batman Arkham Shadow Release Window For Meta Quest 3
The Gamescom 2024 announcements included the official gameplay trailer of Batman Arkham Shadow. It showcased the Dark Knight navigating through tunnels and ledges to get the jump on criminals in Gotham, requesting gadgets via air drops, and utilizing his Grapnel Gun to access different areas. Interestingly, TYGER guards could be seen in the trailer.
Resurrecting the Arkhamverse, Rocksteady Studios’ VR-exclusive Batman game will be launched in October 2024. Gamers will require a Meta Quest 3 to experience the first-person fighting action.
Gamescom 2024 announcements also included Goat Simulator Remastered and Monster Hunter Wilds. Both titles got new gameplay trailers which, apart from revealing the action-packed combat, also disclosed the release windows. Monster Hunter Wilds will be available in 2025, while the remastered Goat Simulator will be launched this year.
