With each passing update, HoYoverse is closing in on the release date for Genshin Impact 5.0. The initiation of the latest 4.7 update has increased the anticipation for 5.0 even more as fans can’t wait to witness what characters and gameplay changes lie in store. Genshin’s fifth version is rumored to introduce the Natlan region in Teyvat, the nation that worships the Pyro Archon and God of War.
When Will Genshin Impact 5.0 Be Released?
Although the Genshin Impact 5.0 release date is yet to be officially disclosed by HoYoverse, a few logical assumptions can be made about its launch date. If the developers maintain the pattern of releasing a version update every six weeks, Genshin Impact 5.0 could be released at the beginning of October.
There is also the possibility of HoYoverse skipping the 4.9 update to introduce the 5.0 version. They did the same for Version 4.0 on August 16, 2023, which introduced the Fontaine region in the game.
Genshin Impact 4.7 will run from June 5 to July 17. On the same day, after a brief maintenance period, the Version 4.8 update will hit all platforms. Each Genshin version lasts 42 days so the 4.8 version will last till the end of August. If HoYoverse decides to cancel the 4.9 update, Genshin Impact 5.0 could arrive early on August 28, 2024.
These estimated release dates haven’t taken into consideration any update delays. Although HoYoverse has dished out timely updates this year, they may want to add some finishing touches and improve the gameplay standard before rolling out the 5.0 update.
What To Expect From Genshin 5.0 Version?
As of writing, the only thing officially confirmed for the highly-anticipated are the device requirements. HoYoverse revealed that Genshin Impact 5.0 will bring a significant change in the Android and iOS requirements. Both devices will require better processors compared to the current ones.
Given that Fontaine was released with the Version 4 update, Genshin 5.0 is expected to include the Natlan region. Natlan is a nation where humans co-exist with Saurians, chibi dinosaur- and dragon-like creatures. As per the 4.2 story, Natlan is also a war-ravaged land controlled by the Fatui Harbinger ‘The Captain.’
The Natlan Preview teaser featured a Saurian traversing across the water similar to Lapras from the Pokémon games. Does this mean characters in Genshin Impact 5.0 will be able to ride on top of the Saurians? It will play into the whole ‘human and Saurian’ friendship mentioned by HoYoverse.
According to multiple reliable leakers, Genshin Impact 5.0 could increase the Character Level Cap to 100. The gameplay changes will be massive if this proves to be true and fans may even get a new Passive trait for each character. Additionally, rumors suggest Cryo characters will be buffed in the upcoming update.
