Global Esports Phoenix, the all-Indian female Valorant squad managed to secure the top 6 finish in its first-ever tournament. The team earned great recognition in the esports scenario with its VCT Game Changers APAC Open 1 performance. It’s more appreciated because for the first-time an all-Indian female line-up achieved this from the Asia-Pacific region. Global Esports Phoenix’s first-ever tournament
Global Esports Phoenix was formed on the 9th of March for participation in VCT Game Changers APAC Open 1. The team consists of all-Indian female players who all went for their first-ever tournament as a team. Being drawn at the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, it faced Team SMG. Well, it was a defeat for them as they lost by 0-2 in the best-of-three-game series and got a demotion to Lower Brackets. But the team had a great performance in the Lower Bracket Round 1 against GO Cyrene.
Match Analysis of Global Esports Phoenix
The team kept a good shape and performed a great comeback in its first game on the Icebox map against GO Cyrene. The team was down by 3-9 in the first half but later a 10-2 finish in the second half gave them a win by 13-11. The second game went well on the Fracture map and the team won the game with 13-5 scores.
With the win, the team headed for the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals against Orangutan X, its regional counterparts. The team had good confidence and went ahead with a win on the Fracture map by winning in overtime. But Orangutan X was determined enough and won back-to-back maps and secured the win.
