Yuto Sano’s monthly shonen manga Gokurakugai is a popular new title that has been getting a lot of attention recently. Due to its stunning art style and fantastic action scenes, the manga has quickly become a cult favorite. With only 19 chapters out, fans cannot wait to see what the story has in store for them as the protagonist Alma faces a creepy and obsessed Maga.
Gokurakugai Chapter 20 Release Date And Where To Read
The 20th chapter of the manga is set to come out on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 8 AM PT. Fans can access the upcoming update as well as all older chapters on the VIZ Media and Shueisha’s Manga Plus websites. The first and last three chapters are available to read for free on both sites, but you will have to pay a subscription fee to unlock the entire series.

What To Expect From Gokurakugai Chapter 20
In chapter 19, Utsu was finally revealed to be the Blood-Loss Death Maga, although she said she preferred being called Utsuro. Alma was disgusted by her as he prepared to fight the yandere girl. The next installment will likely focus on how the protagonist fares against the Maga, who is getting ready to attack him with numerous knives on the last page of the latest chapter. We might also see Tao in the next update as she is looking for Alma and Utsu and gets to know Alma’s location just in time.
Gokurakugai Chapter 19 Recap
The newest chapter of the manga begins with Tao driving around town as Tatsuomi Ban gives her Alma’s location update. He also tells her that Utsu, who Alma was last seen with, has been missing since last year and the only trace of her left behind was all the blood found in her apartment. Ban then informs that the boy she had been dating back then was found covered in blood a few days later.
The story then focuses on Alma and Utsu, who fight in the middle of the road. Utsuro asks the boy to make a suicide pact and stabs him repeatedly when he refuses. The girl notices Alma’s ring, which he wears on a chain around his neck, and has a flashback of the time when she slashed her wrists. Mr. Yomi appeared at her bedside and woke her up. When Utsu asked why she did not die, he answered that she would be happy with them from now on. Back to the present again, she comments that Alma’s ring looks the same as the one Mr. Yomi wears and takes it from him.

Alma, angered by Utsu’s behavior, turns into his half-Maga form and demands his ring back. He comments that usually his wounds never bleed like this, meaning she had to be the Blood-Loss Death Maga. After hearing his words, the girl smiles and asks him to call her Utsuro instead. Annoyed and disgusted, the protagonist attacks her and cuts her head off, saying that it is still weird to cut someone who looks so human. Utsu, however, does not look worried and swallows a pill of some sort, growing her head back instantly. She says that she should probably not abuse these pills, but it would be fine since she did not feel weird. In the next moment, she conjures many knives out of thin air, turning all their blades towards the boy.
