Leading gaming publisher Take-Two Interactive has reconfirmed the GTA 6 release window in a press release dated August 8, 2024. This has put a full stop to the rumors and speculations of a potential delay of the eighth main entry in the Grand Theft Auro series.
Latest Press Release By Take-Two Interactive Reconfirms GTA 6 Release Window
The press release shows Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6 alongside other notable games that are slated for the coming years. Release window for GTA 6 is listed as “Fall of Calendar 2025”, meaning it is still scheduled for sometime between September to November next year. Moreover, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are still the only confirmed GTA 6 platforms.
Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto 5 were mentioned to be “the largest contributors to GAAP net revenue” for the Fiscal Year ending on June 30, alongside NBA 2K24, Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, and others. The publisher is hopeful about the future given that other major titles such as Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game, Civilization VII, Judas, and WWE 2K25 are being planned for a release.
Although the Grand Theft Auto 6 release window was revealed for Fall 2025 in a press release dating back to May, the reconfirmation has eased fans. The wait for a new GTA game has been more than a decade long. In the previous press release, Strauss Zelnick mentioned that the Rockstar Games team was positive about releasing GTA 6 within the launch window.
Following a series of leaks that led to major controversies, Rockstar Games released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in December 2023. It registered multiple Guinness Book of World records and currently boasts 204 million views on YouTube. The trailer also revealed the main characters, Lucia and Jason.
Given the magnitude of the game and the large fanbase, the next Grand Theft Auto may not come cheap. The rumored GTA 6 price is more than most modern-day titles.
