As of yet, there are no other confirmed release dates but the movie is confirmed to be releasing in several Southeast Asian countries starting this May 2024– including countries like India, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and so on. As you can see from the latest new trailer by TOHO Animation, which unfortunately isn’t subtitled yet, the animation, colors, and character designs look clean and nostalgic. Haikyuu fans will be eating well this coming few months.
HAIKYUU Battle of the Garbage Dump Movie: Production
The movie will be animated by Production I.G. and directed by Susumu Mitsunaka who’s worked on the previous seasons of Haikyuu. The theme songs will be performed by SPYAIR and we can look forward to Takahiro Chiba and Mariko Ishikawa as the chief animation director and assistant director respectively.
HAIKYUU Battle of the Garbage Dump Movie: Plot
This movie will be the penultimate movie in the Haikyuu franchise with Karasuno High and Nekoma High officially fighting on the big stage for dominance. Both of these schools have been long-term rivals and were in the big leagues back in the day. While Nekoma was always consistently revered as a great volleyball team, Karasuno went downhill after the retirement of coach Ukai.
After the new Karasuno team comprising Hinata, Kageyama, and other newcomers along with some of the old guard finally started taking center stage in volleyball, Nekoma finally looked forward to fighting them on the official court. Their battle has been and will be called Battle of the Garbage Dump because that’s where crows (Karasuno) and cats (Nekoma) always fight.
