Highlights:
* According to a Honkai Star Rail 2.5 leak, Trailblazers may be able to choose their character from the re-run banners.
* Switchable groups in banners are not a feature in any of the HoYoverse’s games with a gacha system like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero.
Honkai Star Rail banners may undergo a significant change in the future. According to a recent leak, Version 2.5 will introduce more re-runs of old characters. Trailblazers would also have the option to choose between three switchable groups, thereby obtaining new characters or farming for duplicates to unlock Eidolons.
Honkai Star Rail 2.5 Leak Claims Trailblazers Can ‘Switch’ Banners To Get Old Characters
Like other gacha RPG games by developer HoYoverse, each version of Honkai Star Rail debuts a maximum of two new five-star rarity characters. Each Phase includes a new character and a re-run of a five-star character. Similarly, Honkai Star Rail 2.5 leaks revealed that the next update will feature Feixiao as the new playable character in the first phase alongside the re-run of Black Swan.
Interestingly, HoYoverse is seemingly planning to introduce more character re-runs in each phase. Ubatcha, a reliable leaker, shared a post on Reddit mentioning that each phase will include a main banner and a sub-banner. While the main banner will include the debuting character and their Light Cones, the sub-banner will feature a character’s re-run, their Light Cones, and three switchable groups.
Light Cones of the characters in the switchable groups may not appear in the sub-banner. That said, the leaker mentioned that the new type of banner is based on speculations. UBatcha centered their post based on a previous piece of information shared by Honkai Star Rail leaker Dimbreath.
Switchable groups in the re-run banner section will be one of the most impressive quality-of-life Honkai Star Rail 2.5 features. Both beginners and veterans can make good use of the potential feature. Usually, after finally obtaining a character, Trailblazers are left with no tickets and they have to wait months for a re-run and subsequently get duplicates to make Eidolon upgrades.
Bringing back more old characters also allows players to get their favorites. For instance, one of the users commented on the Honkai Star Rail 2.5 leak, stating that they have the entire team for Kafka but not the character because they missed both her debut and re-run banners.
A new banner-switching mechanic will certainly be a big plus for the turn-based game. The rumored Honkai Star Rail 2.5 features also include a pet system. Honkai Star Rail beta leaks show a Tuskpir pet that has its own lore and idle animations.
