Amidst the whole ‘Is Firefly dead?’ narrative in the ongoing story, miHoYo has decided to make the Stellaron Hunter a playable character. She was revealed to be an upcoming 5-Star character wielding Pyro powers in the drip marketing for Honkai Star Rail 2.3. According to leaks, Firefly will be the highlight of the Phase 1 banner that is going to begin on June 18, marking the introduction of the 2.3 update.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 release date is considered to be June 18 because the Phase 2 summons for the 2.2 version will end on the day prior. The official information will be provided in the HSR 2.3 livestream which is believed to be slated for the beginning week of June.
Firefly Abilities In Honkai: Star Rail — An Upcoming Meta DPS?
Leaks for Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 banners suggest Firefly will be a formidable character, capable of switching to her mecha-form to deal an insane amount of area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Belonging to the Destruction Path, she is rumored to deal Pyro damage with her Basic Attack while her Skill will deal AoE damage after consuming a portion of Firefly’s health.
The highlight of Firefly’s skillset is her Technique. It makes her move swiftly, dodging all incoming attacks, while her movement is hidden from the enemies. Pressing the Techinque button again will make Firefly exit the Special State and blast enemies at range with Pyro damage that lasts two turns.

Firefly’s Eidolons will enhance her capabilities. According to leaks, her Complete Combustion Ultimate can provide several buffs and give her more immunity. She can also ignore a portion of the enemy’s Defense when using the Enhanced Skill. Based on the information, a Crit-build and AoE-build is suitable for Firefly.
Now that players know the suspected Firefly release date in Honkai: Star Rail, they can start saving Stellar Jades to summon the character from the upcoming banner. She will be headlining the 2.3 banners alongside Jade, the upcoming Quantum 5-star character, believed to headline the Phase 2 banner.
